Death Knight Build
Would going 1 H and shield, taking warfare and necromancy work as a good combo?

I really want to do a death Knight esque building but not sure how to really go about it and have it be effective.

I know he will definitely be taking leech.

Can anyone provide me some input?

Thanks for the info levatt. Seems like a good start for my death knight seeing as the plan is to do.most damage via my weapons more so than spells. Mostly using the necro spells for the blood healing and some curses ECT.

My companion will handle the main magic and healing so he will fix that part missing

No problem. I've been planning on making the same type of character with my friend, so it's been helpful for me to put the ideas in writing and figure out whats good and whats bad.
I've been doing some research myself but I always like some outside wisdom in case I've missed something or maybe a better idea going towards the same character that i hadn't come across.

Edit; levatt, definitely gave me some good tips and info going forward.

Bump. With full game out now and people able to put some time into the game, any other tips, tricks, or opinions on a working viable death knight build using warfare as main and using necromancy to support?

Any thing else to make death knight more effective that I could use or miss?

I played Dwarf fighter with Necromancy/Warfare and 1h sword and shield + Leech talent. I found the leech talent to be very underwhelming personally. I also found that I often got ignored by enemies as they went for softer targets instead of me, even with a taunt, so shield is not as important, though it does provide amazing physical and magic armor against status effects.

And the last note about Necro self healing, I believe you only heal off of damage dealt to enemies health points and not from damage to their physical or magical armor. That could have changed by now though.

Opportunist is a very good talent for fighter though, as many enemies run past me for my casters.

For me, I would build a Death Knight like this:

Preset: Knight
Race: Any (but Human or especially Undead thematically)
Abilities: Warfare, Necromancer, Telekinesis
Skills: Rage, Vampiric Touch, Blood Sucker
Talent: Morning Person (later, Comeback Kid if not incompatible)

Playstyle: Throw yourself into the fray mercilessly, cutting down your foes. You do not fear Death, you are death: When killed, have an ally resurrect you, taking you back to full strength instantly thanks to Morning Person.

Why telekinisis?
Good to know, I just want to be 100% sure I know what I want to do and make sure I don't get mid game with a messed up hybrid build. Learned now that you need hydro in order to use blood rain with necro.

So I guess my necro will need hydro to so. Anything else that would allow the death knight to be more viable and efficient without making him to spread out?

I'm really efficient in how I play. I don't mind testing but when it comes to a legit playthrough, I don't like making too many mistakes and having to respec ect. Especially when certain skill books are harder to come by
Stabbey, notic d you copies and pasted that from the larien forums. I do not find that build viable at all. Plus I can put into other useful abilities than telekenisis.
I have no intention on using leech. For a necromancer it isn't necessary.

FYI, when the entry-level Necro summon uses its suicide bomb special, it creates a pretty big pool of blood. Good synergy with Blood Sucker.

There is a pre built class already that is pretty much this. Inquisitor.
Inquistor isn't exactly a death knight otherwise death knight would be called inquistor. Death knight has a much different set up.
The inqusitor doesn't use 2 h or sword and board and the basis isn't the same as a death knight
Staves ECT aren't my game.

Also, intelligence won't be a necessity entirely since necro is a support

Edit: inquistor looks to be using necromancy more than warfare and doesn't seem to want to use heavy armor. Not that presets matter cause it changes anyways.

I got a 1h/shield using lone wolf (me and a friend) so far nothing has been able to hold us off. I use nercomancy as well and picked up hydro to get rain. Mixed them together got raining blood and then would use blood sucker and it just makes you nearly unkillable with all the blood around you. And incase you were wondering it does HEAL undead (as in it doesnt dmg you) so all around it can work wonders and getting a nice shield upgrade and watching bouncing shields dmg skyrocket is a nice bonus plus tossing out plagues and diseases does nothing but help you by reducing the enemies output.

Also Retribution at higher rankings is ABSURD... sorry you hit me for 150 dmg? Here take back 100 of it... it makes some fights a joke.

Also leech does heal you from reflected dmg... just a heads up.

Edit: Added some info
