Level 3 Spells?

So me and a friend have been at reapers cost fort 5 levels now, and are level 13. We have all 3 source slots, and done a fair ammount of things. But it's been ages. We got all the new spells at level 8. And still, 5 levels later, we have yet to get new spells since then, aside from source based spells. When does the third tier of spells drop?

try combining skill books for unique skills also when you get to arx there'll be new spells available

IIRC Spells are directly tied to the Acts. Act 1 - 1 source, act 2 - 2 source, etc. However, Act 2 is absolutely massive and there are definitely level 3 spells where you are. Act 2 is arguably longer than Act 1 and 3 combined.

Level 1-3 - Tier 1
Lv 4-9 - Tier 2 + Tier 1 Source
Lv 9-16 - Tier 3 + Tier 2 Source at Level 12
Lv 16+ - Tier 4 + Tier 3 Source

Level 12 was the most recent spell unlock for the source ones, the last tier of normal spells drops at level 16. These are the spells that require three points in the associated skill to use. Pretty much all the late game stuff unlocks at 16, including the highest tier consumables and crafting materials also including the needed items for huge runes and rune frames. Remember, framed runes cannot be made larger. It might be wise to hold off on using rune frames until 16 where you can get the best ones.

Oof... I was hoping the game was longer than it sounds like it is. I thought Reapers coast was the first of many destinations after fort joy. But it sounds like thats much bigger than i was hoping it was.

You'll finish the game at around level 20-23 iirc. Reapers coast is the longest act as well. You've still got plenty to do however.

Yeah the first act is roughly 25% and the second is another 35-40%. The third act is small enough it’s only like 10-15% depending how fast you burn through it. The last on is something like the last 20-25% of the game.
