Just started playing, what are the must have mods?
So far the games fantastic without it and ill do a vanilla run just to be able to enjoy it on its own, but are there any mods you love, think are great additions, or are simply underrated? Thanks for your time!

Once you're in the game, you can turn on some "gift bag features" from the main menu, which are just curated mods supported by Larian. For pure quality of life, I always use these:

Source Meditation - saves you the busy work of collecting source between fights if needed.

Enhanced Spirit Vision - avoid missing details due to temporary vision that has to be re-applied constantly.

Endless Runner - faster movement speed when out of combat.

Also, Fort Joy Magic Mirror and Animal Empathy are nice, though they have more of an impact on the actual gameplay.

If you want to play a summoner, the summoning gift bag mod is a must. When I first saw it, I thought to myself "why?", now I'm finally using it, and it makes more than just the Incarnate useful (assuming summoning 10 for the champion), and it feels great. Almost every summon can be good (Condor is still super underwhelming imo, and I didn't get the Black Cat on my summoner annoyingly >.>), and they all have their places. I am especially liking the Fire Slug and Hungry Flower (both well worth the source point for summoning). Something it doesn't tell you is that it adds craftable skillbooks for Blood Infusion and Oil Infusion as well as their source variants.

Beyond that, as orksmith said, Enhanced Spirit Vision is a MUST, Endless Runner is really nice, and I think Animal Empathy should be a default thing because the animals are just so GOOD!

In addition, I like to use a carry weight mod because I'm lazy and don't always have a str character to lug things around.

I also like the Sorcerous Sundries gift bag mod that can make early Uniques last forever, assuming you're willing to pay the price, but really, what else are you spending your 4 stacks of gold on?

You paid for it?! The moment I saw the price I respec'ed in the mirror and stole everything, multiple times from the vendor and also everything from the stands :D

With lucky charm and bartering (and giving each vendor 500-2000 gold for max reputation) I've had more than enough money to buy them. I also have barely used them as of yet since I'm still only 16 this run, so I've only used them to jump really well skilled items at least 4 levels. Also as an fyi, for those that don't notice, the price goes up every level, so buy them when you can at lower levels.

Yeah, those items might be expensive, but by the end of act two I’m usually sitting on close to 2 million gold to the point I stop selling old gear even. After that point I just pay with gold.
