Nah, it's a relic from the past and should be treated as such. SELL IT FOR MONEYS!

shops and stuff you discover will usually always be around your level, except for uniques.

I generally don't use the Tyrant set. It is such a pain to upgrade from since you need an entire new set of gear and cannot upgrade piece by piece. The first act is easy enough once you know what you're doing anyways so having good gear isn't significant.

certain gear and weapons will have rune slots, that's how you can do it.

unlike in D&D universe here you don't have +2..5 weapons. They don't scale with you. All that unique beauty becomes worthless for battle every 2 levels or so. There is no problem to find all the weapons you need for current levels ahead of your developments while it is not the case for armor for a full 4 "men" party. It is expensive, rare, specific. Even more so considering you will prefer one with particular boost, like +strength, constitution, ranged, intelligence...

As an example, level 10 unique/legendary/some rare are on par with level 11 common. And mostly because they have all those bonuses. While level 12 common item will beat it without a doubt. Mage weapons may be an exemption since some of them rarely hit with weapons if at all. Intelligence and other boosts may be more important on those sticks.

As already said for armor you can survive with slightly less, as it is more a question of heals and particular earth/water regen spells. Also it just adds 100 or 200 to your initial sustain pool. While for weapons with all the bells and whistles, a level 12 unique may do almost double the damage of that of level 10 unique.

Level scaling in this game is rather extreme. For everything. You can fight one level above you with good planning, but there is almost no way to win 2 levels above you even when all your team has teleports and jumps.

There are hardly any other sets in this game. Probably for the reason you would grow past the level while collecting them. So Tyrant is kind of useless too. Except the hat is funny at start.

Crafted items are always your level and so are those in most shops after first Gheto.
You can "upgrade" items with runes in case they have socket. That's the only upgrade. Or get new every level or 2.

Don't forget to put nails in your boots. Feels good for them long walks.

Hell, the Tyrant set isn't even good gear by the time you leave, not if you stop to do everything on the island.
