What's all this about becoming a God? [potential spoilers here]
I don't have the game, I'm just wondering, I can't find any referrence to actually becoming a God in Divinity 2 on the Internet, but the game desciption does mention it, so I'm just wondering if you can, and if so, what can you do once you are? Sorry in advance if this is a stupid queston.

In DOS2 to became Divine =//= to became God.

Rest will be massive spoilers and I don't want to ruin someones fun.

Thanks, I suppose, it's just that the game itself uses the term "God" in the leading description: "Master deep, tactical combat. Join up to 3 other players - but know that only one of you will have the chance to become a God." - hence my confusion. Would telling me what you can do as a Divine class as a huge spoiler? Like, more AP generation or something?

its meant to be vague, its a mystery you uncover over the course of the story

You're already Jesus, why does it matter if you become a god ingame or not?
Look, anything we say will ruin the story for you.

I'll say that corisai is only partially right in his statement that divine isn't the same as god. Things happen.

Cheers anyway. It's not like I have the game, and knowing my memory I'll forget what you say by the time I buy the game, but I understand your caution, which I appreciate.

You can become a god, it really has to do with your end game choices. When you ascend as a divine your source skills don't cost any source points. You may want to mark this as a spoiler.

its all apart of the roleplay aspect of it

and gives a multitude of endings

You are basically asking people to spoil the entire mystery behind the game for you.

You are begging me to spoil it for you lmao

Mechanical--not story--spoilers: You don't effectively play the game as "the Divinity." During actual play, you unlock the ability to see spirits and a small pool of "Source," the magic that fuels the gods in the setting, which can be used for quite powerful spells and skills.

Does that answer your question?

It does, thank you. As for those who think they're spoiling it for me, you probably are, but I have little intention of picking up the game for a long time. I'm content with the first game - which I barely play as is. I was just curious as I could find no decent referrence online.

Well, turns out I was right, just got the game 3 years later and accidentally stumbled across this thread, which I completely forgot about. If it's any help, nothing was spoiled for me ;)
