Expected Damage and Armor values at lvl 18?
I've finally gotten to Arx, and it's been a massive pain to find anything to do. Most fights start with atleast 2 of my party members dead or CCed, and I am wondering if my characters are woefully undergeared. I would like to know how much damage people are getting out of their characters and what sort of armor values I should be having.

Specific armor and damage values are tough to keep track of. As far as armor goes, if everything you're wearing is within 1-2 levels of your current level, it's probably "enough".

The pressing issue that plagues a lot of people as they reach act 4 is builds. Act 4 can feel like a victory lap if you're perfectly applying every principle demonstrated in previous acts, or it can be a brick wall if you've been skating by. Specifically, if your characters don't have maxed-out damage attributes and skill trees, you're going to have a really hard time actually breaking through enemy armor in order to prevent incoming damage through crowd control. Tanking incoming hits is always bad throughout the game, and it only gets worse in act 4.

Can you give us a sense of your party, and how they're built? The more specific the better, screenshots would be ideal.

Ah, makes sense then. Pretty sure my builds are garbage since this is the first game of this type I've played.

Main mage is a close range Aerothurge with a staff and finesse armor. She is usually fine, but I still get one shot now and then. She seems to be the best damage dealer, but the CC is not very nice.

STR 5
FIN 14 +5
INT 33 + 12
CON 13 + 4
MEM 20 +5
WIT 18 +4

Red Prince is a simple 2H knight. Pretty much everything in warfare with some buffs on the side.

STR 29 + 5
FIN 10
INT 5
CON 22
MEM 16
WIT 16

Fane is a summoner with some pyro, but I mostly use him to keep everyone buffed and alive. Works great if I survive turn 1.

STR 1
FIN 1
INT 1
CON 1
MEM 1
WIT 1

Ifan is a pure rogue, and does pretty nicely with invis and debuffs.

STR 10 + 7
FIN 10
INT 28 + 2
CON 14 + 4
MEM 23
WIT 15 + 2

I’m going to assume those last two aren’t very accurate? One in all stats is clearly wrong and the lack of finesse on a rogue is a bit confusing enough to assume a mistake.

Also, including skills would be worthwhile. Skills are just as important to builds as attributes. Talents to a lesser extent, still somewhat relevant.

That said, you’re somewhat sitting on the weird kinda 3-1 split of magic and physical. Summoners make it weird because they’re either one. Still, you want balanced damage output when possible so I assume the incarnate is often magic based?

For a third spammed post, there is also the possibility you’re finding yourself attacked by enemies of a higher level? There’s some demon ambushes and other fights that are easily stumbled upon that are level 20. While they should be manageable, they can often pose issues to some players.

For the Rogue He has about 10-30 Finesse and I just straight up forgot to give the stats on Fane. The demon attacks were pretty nasty but I got by by abusing dialogue buffing. Should I look into adding more to initiative just to get a chance to fight back? Recently the portal fight in the consulate has been near impossible for me, and the ambush in the vault has been rude too.

All those sound like the level 19-20 stuffs. If you're still 18, you want to look into the wedding and the magister barracks first.

I do wish the enemy levels corresponded to difficulty more often, It's mildly annoying running into a fight with lvl 18 enemies that's meant for an average player to tackle at level 19 or 20. I'll keep the split party damage in mind though, might come in handy.

Your rogue has +7 strength from gear, but your warrior only has +5? Sounds like your itemization is all off. Gear aside, it would be nice if your primary damage stats were at the soft cap of 40 at this stage in the game. You can likely make this happen by adjusting your points around a bit. Your wizard, for example, could easily ditch those pointless Finesse points in favor of Intelligence, and everybody could stand to have less constitution.

Beyond that, as Chaoslink said, you're picking the harder fights in the act. But that said, I wouldn't consider level to be as relevant in the endgame as it was in the earlier acts, as scaling is relatively more minor at this stage in the game.

For the finesse on my mage, I'm using to get the armor, since my mage does spend a fair bit of time close to enemies. Otherwise I will definitely look into respeccing to round out a few issues. Thanks for the info though ^^

It's does seem to have a lot of sudden spikes followed by easy cruising. Wouldn't mind if there was some smoother progression and perhaps some way to know what kind of encounter's to expect before getting wiped.

after every level up repeat the same thing

go to vendor
sell all your crap
buy new weapons for everyone
look rings with +2 to something critical for your build and keep em regardless of level if you are getting +2 warfare keep it.

Have one of your players with Lucky Charm maxed out ..

If you have been upgrading your weapons , and pushing the stat that scales the weapon and choosing the stat area "Like Warfare" that scales the weapon .... you should be able to drop the armour off an opponent and kill him in the first round... if you cant .. you are going to die ...

+1 for Lucky Charm.... Opening up every container and hoping for new level gear is key...

That first ARX battle outside the city was just brutal. Had to rez my characters into a dome of protection at least once each, but finally passed it.
