Black pixellation of screen and solid black portrait.
Is anyone else still getting large parts of the screen covered with areas of black pixellation when light quality is set to "high", but not when it's set to "medium"? (Also, a solid black character portrait).

It's been reported by quite a few people since release, with various pc builds, and as far as I can gather, was never resolved.

The medium light setting thing I can live with, but the solid black portrait is really annoying! If anyone has a solution, or could point me to a thread which has one (I did search...) that would be appreciated, ta :)

Here's my specs for anyone that cares: (Although the problem has been persistent on 2 other laptops I have owned up until this one too...)

Dell Inspiron 15 7577
I7 7700
16gb
GTX 1060 6gb
All system drivers up to date
latest nvidia drivers 398.36 (Although issue has been present through every iteration of the game and drivers since release).

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, just couldn't find a definitive answer :(

I got exactly the same problem since i've reinstalled the game 2 days ago, and it wasn't here in my first playtrough :/

Bummer man :( After experimentation and trawling through various forums for a few hours tonight, it seems the only answer is to either have the lighting quality on medium (so you can have all shadow options enabled), or lighting on high and light shadows disabled.

A roll back to previous nvidia drivers may solve it, but I haven't got the time to test different versions even if it did work :(

In order to solve my black portrait issue I had to start a new game with light shadows disabled from the start. It didn't do anything to the portrait if I changed the settings on a previous save unfortunately.

Ah well...

Have you tried using the respec mirror to refresh the portrait after changing the video settings?

I hadn't got to act two at that point, but thanks for the suggestion :)

Played the definitive edition last night and can confirm, this is no longer an issue :) All settings on full, 1080p 60fps constantly too. The optimisation in this patch is amazing! Although I played a bit too much and am now finding it hard to stay awake at work. Thanks Larian Studios! :)
