Fane Story line and choices? (no spoilers please, just advice)

I'm on my first playthrough and i'm duo wolfing as fane with sebille as my partner.

So far i have almost done everything in act 2, save for the elf forest puzzle and trying to figure out how to close the soul forge weapon under the fishery quest.

I havn't bothered getting source vampirism yet, but i do have 3 source points.

I have met with and completed the objectives for all the source masters except jahan and the advocate.

When i was collecting the ancient tablet inside the mines in the blackpits, i learned that Fane was the one who researched and discovered the void, turns out the god king did not sacrifice his people and betray him, turns out fane was only the researcher, and it was 7 of his people who used him and imprisoned him, then became gods and imprisoned the people and the king into the void.

Which got me thinking that the gods are the bad guys and i should try to side with the god king and maybe hopefully save his people?

But then i also wonder why the voidwoken are spawning to attack me, maybe they think i'm siding with the seven gods and they work for the king trapped in the void.

So now here's the question, i did a little digging and i didn't spil anything too great for myself, i know that at some point you have to pick a side, magisters or black ring, should i side with the black ring, up till now i believe their a cult that work for the king trapped in the void, and all the minions he's been sending was only to stop me from being a puppet to the gods.

If i'm right so far, if i chose to stay with the gods and become divine i would be betraying my people even further?

In my mind and playstyle so far, i have been a very gentle fane, a nice hero that helps people and tries to undo the mistakes made. I want to do whats right and get a good ending, but i now distrust the gods and believe that the god king is who i should side with if at all possible.

Please let me know if as fane i should if possible side with the black ring and or the void king?

You don’t really side other either. The magisters aren’t exactly evil, the black ring are more so.
