Act 2 in Driftwood - There is a cat skeleton i know nothing bout

Behind the tavern right next to the chicken coop, there lies a skeleton of a cat.
Question 1. is just people buried their pet/friend
Question 2. does this cat have a story behind it that i can follow
Question 3. or am i over thinkin this?
Couldn't find any detail if i used god's eyes to see spirits
plz. in need of extra hands or does someone know bout it definitively, ending or not..?

Just a dead cat, no quest involved

As I remember, there is a cat that wants fish - don't know wether she was alive or ghost.
You can give her a normal fish or contaminated fish - she will die and reborn because of the nine lives of a cat. That's all I remember.

which i will brag bout. i have played this game for 500 hours just recently got for pc
and THIS is the FIRST time i RAN into that cat

With Pet pal, I think the nearby chickens have a voiceline that vaguely suggests they killed it. Sort of the bird getting back at the cat since cats typically kill the birds, not the other way around.

I might also just be imagining things.

Another thimg - if you have a broken necklace with you, give it to the playing children nearby.
