But I'm an easy lay when it comes to DnD. Totally respect the devotion to the Divinity setting as well.
While it was going to have some story the Fallen Heroes was more of a side project with a Very Light Dragon Commander style mixed with DoS 2 arenas instead of rts+dragon jetpack.
But ya Baldurs is far more famous then DoS so it very likely unless they f up, a sequel of it will be the next goal so we talking many years for DoS.
(assuming they don't decide to make something else entirely or go back to other games).
More so since they can't handle even just having a side project they minor help with, which is fine, better to have 1 good game then risk 2 below/average I suppose->
(honestly mixed here feel they have the budget to handle it).
If Divinity OS 3 (or whatever the next Divinity game is) has the same combat except just new spells/skills, story, new vistas, and they bring over those cinematic dialogue scenes I will be a happy fan. Until then, I'm pretty excited about Baldur's Gate 3. Just waiting for the full release to play at the moment.
[Spoilers]
I selected purging the Source, and that could be a nice start for a less "powerful" world, while a Source let loose world could be a cool start for a "when everybody is super, no-one is" story.
D:OS Fallen Heroes (direct sequel of D:OS 2) is on the work.
