Spirit of Sir Lora
Ummm so I was walking in the streets of Arx while I noticed an extra soul, and it turned out to be sir lora and quercus... I don't even know when they died if they did. I think that might've happened in thieves' guild lairs maybe.
Does this affect his quest if he has any? or Is there a way to bring them back to life? I really want to finish his story, and PLEASE don't spoil anything.
Thanks in advance

I don’t think it really changes anything. Though you’re likely right about where it happened, the deathfog down there is a common means of claiming them.

Tbh they're much less of an annoyance now that they're just spirits. I tried not killing them the whole time since act 1, and they died just the moment I stopped being careful.
Thanks anyways

In reality, he’s just an over glorified tutorial on combining skillbooks that ended up so distracting that he didn’t really succeed in helping players learn that you can craft skillbooks together.

Yeah just finished the game, he wasn't really helpful I never used any of his crafting recipes on my playthrough. As for himself I expected some story behind him or at least everything about the great Acorn being his imagination and stuff.
He was a good company though wasn't that annoying and I even liked him and quercus a bit.

It’s not really the specific recipes he teaches that is what I meant about crafting skillbooks. His purpose was to show players that crafting skillbooks together is even a thing. There are tons of combinations and his is supposed to get the player to experiment more than anything. A large majority of players will go through the entire game and never once realize that skillbooks can be crafted together. Sir Lora and his recipes were supposed to help players learn about the whole concept. Instead, players get too distracted by him to really realize that was his overall purpose.

If you weren’t aware, there’s a skillbook combination for every combo of the 4 magic elements combined with all the rest of the “physical” skills. Elements don’t combine and physical skills don’t combine, but one of Pyro, Geo, Aero or Hydro mixed with one of any other skill yields a new skill. There’s a source version of those skills as well, just swap out any one regular book for a source skill to make that instead.

Some are pretty useless or incredibly niche. Others can be quite potent if used effectively. One of the best you can make is Geo/Huntsman which makes Throw Dust. The source version, Dust Blast, is effectively a miniature Pyroclastic Eruption, the strongest spell in the game. Throw Dust is also useful because it clears any surface, necrofire and all.

I missed out on all this, gonna try and pay more attention to crafting skill books together next time.

Isn't there any other way to obtaining these spells you mentioned? I tried buying any pyromancy spell I could from vendors and never got necrofire or the epidemic of fire, etc.

Also, can I combine scrolls and get the same result?

Scrolls don’t craft together like that.

Epidemic of fire is a normal Pyro “source” skill. Should be sold by most Pyro merchants sometime in act two, I forget the specific level unlock. It’s really the only necrofire spell obtainable, though other spells can create cursed surfaces that can then be ignited into necrofire.

There isn’t really another way aside from crafting. Blood Rain is a crafted book you can find in act one, but that’s about it. There might be one or two more, but most must be crafted.

Got it, thanks for the help.
