Ifan attack me - need help
Hello, in fort joy when I teleport to 2nd level of the castle and go to main entrance (outside) to start the fight from above, Ifan, which is not in my team just come in and join the fight against me, no idea why since i can go to speak normall with him if i don't start the fight with guards.

What am I missing ?

Is it ok if i kill him or will I miss a lot of potential stories ?

Can you flee fight? Use your AP to get as far away as you can, then try Flee Fight.

If not - I'd reload from earlier if I were you.

You only end up with 4 on your team, but if you're new - I'd say Ifan is a pretty good one to have.

I can reload just before the fight and Ifan is cool with me, he only turns hostile when guards see me upstairs, is this a bug ?

I've already decided on my team members and won't use Ifan, but wanted to know why he turns hostile and if it is a big deal regarding the lore that he dies ?

It's no big deal if he dies. But this got me curious. This never happened to me. What's Ifan even doing there? Shouldn't he be at the square? Or is there a way to do some quest which brings him there?

Oh, try right clicking him, and examine. See his attitude points towards you. For some reason he doesn't like you.

If you’re not going to replace a teammate for him, it won’t matter. Your party after act one sets in stone and you lose access to the other origin characters permanently after the transition. If you’re not using him now he isn’t really that important.

He's always at the same place after I kicked him out of the group > just in front of the main gate of the castle.

Anyway because I noticed my black cat died I reload several hours earlier and now I have a bug with Daeyena that doesn't speak to me after the fight :''

I'm sad because I still haven't left the island but already reloaded at least 5 or 6 hours of play on maybe 10 :/ starting to get a bit fed up...

Are you sure the cat died?

If you enter the Fort via the ladder, the cat just waits. You will get it back later.

The cat isn’t a huge deal, if you lose him you won’t miss much later. The best thing to do though is to use the scaffolding to the right of Dallis and Alexander where they kill Atusa to climb up and avoid them. This leaves the cat safely outside the fort while you do things. Just go back for him when you plan to leave.

Yup his corpse is at the gate, so I came back to the 2nd floor with scaffolding (same as the lsat time) with the cat this time, and still Ifan attacks me as soon as the fight with the guards starts, I'm fed up, he's gonna die.

I have a black cat at home, he must stay alive whatever his contribution is in the game or at my home.

I had similar situation with Lohse. Here the things happened to me:

Attacking Magisters (or civilians) without talking them turns story characters against you unless you befriended with them.

Lohse attacked me for attacking a magister while he was talking with my companion. Fane attacked me for hitting the mage with teleportation glove quest.

Fane does that.

If you have one talk to him so he's looking away, you can kill the mage with the other 3.

Ok everything became almost clear when I killed Ifan and the magister, because I found a note on one of the magister I killed (Borris), the note from borris but written by Rost said Ben-mehzd has some buisness with a merchant in Zaleskar ; I guess in the end Ifan Ben Mehzd had some buisness with borris the magister so attacking Borris Trigger Ifan hostility, not a bug in the end i guess. Amazing Game :)

Glad you worked it out.

If you think it's amazing now - wait till you've been playing 100 hours, and still not at the end.

:)

I can see how your solution can help, it seems similar to the one i use when stealing (one chara talking to the victim to keep him in place while another one steal him) but in the end I am happy there is a reason Ifan died so I'm gonna carry on ;)

If I ever actually get to the end, and damn it, I'm trying hard - I'm going to miss Ifan on my next playthrough. To be fair though, probably not as much as Red Prince and Sebille.

Lohse, Fane and Beast next time. Think I'm going to be the Archer myself.

Lol I just had the same thing happen to me. And i was about to ask the same question. I guess i wont bother reloading a previous save, i have my party pretty well set. Skeleton dude is my lockpicker, Lizard dude is my tanker, the Elf ♥♥♥♥♥ is my assassin, and I used the human ♥♥♥♥♥ as my main. She also acts as the mage/healz.
