question bout griff?

is it possible to just kill griff and spare his crew?

I don't think so as I tried reloading a few times and I always had to fight all of them.

There's no real practical reason to do so, but yeah, you can. You have to kill him then exit combat. When you return, they will have a low attitude and not talk to you unless you bribe them, but they shouldn't attack on sight once you've exited the zone. Make sure Butter hasn't been sweet talked before doing this, or she will stay in combat when you exit.

I'm not sure if there is a bad side. I didn't know that opening his orange and finding his stash wouldn't allow me to trade him for the key so I had to fight him to get the key.

the only one you can spare there if you decide to fight them is butter.
i believe you encounter her again during the last act, but its been a while.

bad side of killing them is loosing 2-3 vendors and 1-2 skill trainer until you leave fort joy.

Through careful use of high ground, line of sight and teleport, you might be able to isolate him.

New player here and was reading about one achievement where they used teleportation to split the encounter. Have you tried teleporting Griff?
