Jahan acts like Lohse isn't in party, Lohse is my Avitar. Have I wasted 50 hours or is he necessary for her quest?
So I'm playing as Lohse and the game tells me to go and visit Jahan after speaking to malady.
I've done this and now have two red quest markers on my map. One where Jahan is and 'Jahan last spotted here' near the bridge to bloodmoon island.
However the quest progress is stuck on:
" Find the demonologist
Malady told me that a demonologist could help me with the demon inside me. The demonologist Jahan was last seen north or driftwood"
I went back and exhausted every dialog option. I also went to the "Jahan last seen here" spot and it's empty.
Is Lohse's quest bugged as I spoke to Jahan over 10 hours of gameplay ago, right as I landed at driftwood.
Srsly guise, wat do?

Edits:
The quest "The advocate" shows up in my journal, but as far as Lohse goes there is no update to her quest.
I reloaded to about 30 hours previous in the game and went straight for jahan and spoke with him using Lohse. The quest updates to "Find the demonologist" (checkmark) then opens a new line to the quest which is "" Assassinate the advocate"
I first spoke to jahan (it might have been with another character) very early on and don't want to play through the entire 2/3 of driftwood again so is there anything I can do to make the quest force update without replaying everything again? A save game editor? Or will the quest just continue to update so long as I do the rest of the steps?

I've tried reloading multiple times and it seems that the first time I spoke to Jahan I must have done something 'wrong' when I first met Jahan because the map doesn't update from 'Jahan seen here' to 'Jahan' and if I load earlier everything I do makes it work just fine with the "step out of the shadows" line from Jahan. I've tried talking to the demon first, tried talking to Jahan as The Red Prince (he's my persuasion character so I occasionally start conversations with him) and Jahan talks about TRP and demons but still talks about Lohse's problem, I've tried talking with Lohse out of the party (she can't be dismissed as she's mg avitar but I had her on the Lady Vengence while everyone spoke to Jahan, I've tried everything I can possibly think of and Lohse always gets the progression dialogue no matter what.

This is really, really annoying to realize that I'm stuck so late on in the second act. I had just got my third source point by now and that was from killing the harbinger of doom in the North and kissing the succubus .

Can I continue the Lohse storyline or am I stuck now?

Bump
Can anyone help out?
I've tried reloading 50 hours back and I can get the quest advanced but if I talk to jahan now the quest is still stuck at "find the demonologist" and Jahan just acts like I'm not Lohse.
I could try to get Lohse to leave the party but because Lohse is my Avitar I can't do that.

Is there a save game editor I can use to just check the box in that quest line.

Or can I continue without Jahan?

sorry, no clue. Hope it works out.

Does she still have the Lohse tag in her tags page?

Sorry, I know that sucks. I was worried for a moment on my current run because Gareth disappeared from the Fort Joy marsh even though I told him "I'm not ready yet", but it all worked out.

I'll check that in about an hour when I'm off for lunch.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Long day.
Lohse does indeed still have the Lohse tag and I've had Lohse specific conversation options over the past 50 hours too.
Jahan talks to me like he would any other party member, it's really strange.
The only things I haven't tried (because they would take time away from enjoying the game though I'm not enjoying it as much now I've found this out) I'll see if I can make Jahan remember who I am somehow, maybe teleport him to force a conversation or keep playing the Lohse quest line without him.

I'll be furious if I'm locked out of the ending I was aiming for because of a bug.

Edit: sorry for the double post.
Also I spoke to Jahan with every other character in my party (and I have no mercs and haven't had any) and Jahan opens with the "come in, out if the darkness" line yet he acts like he's spoken with Lohse before as he's given out his source quest so the only person who could have spoken to him is Lohse. Yet the quest is still stuck at him.

Odd, though I have heard of issues like this before. The most common one is losing the Lohse tag (more commonly the Red Prince tag) so the game stops identifying the character as an origin character. The tag makes them who they are.

This issue is less common. I’ve seen it, but not often. Most of the time it was immediate enough that players fixed it with a reload. I’m assuming that you have one reason or another not to do that.

To be fair, I don’t believe he’s a hugely valuable asset to her quest. Though I don’t know if there’s some trigger he might be connected with that would change something. His interactions with Lohse are unique after all. So I can’t say for certain another issue wouldn’t come up later.

Excellent, someone who's actually heard of this issue.
I think at the time I was playing, spoke to jahan, assumed it was done, went to bed or went off to do something and completely forgot about jahan because I had a whole stack of other quests. However thinking back on it something definitely seemed off when I met him, maybe I got a blank text box with just "1." as the option and ignored it forgetting that he was important or maybe I'm overthinking and misremembering.
I only realized when doing the third ritual (checked the wiki wondering if changing something on bloodmoon changed how the ritual went out of curiosity) after progressing another 50 hours of gameplay (though maybe 1/5th of it was inventory management and 1/4 of it was exploration) so I could probably get it down to 26-27 hours, maybe even 10 hours if I just powered through everything but doing something you've already done immediately over again would probably just make me rage
quit.
You said that Jahan isn't a requirement for her quest however? If this is true I guess I can just keep on playing and see what happens, maybe after I help him at Bloodmoon he'll realize who I am.

You don't know of any devkit style mods where you can just reset character conversations/manipulate conversation trees or check off part of a quest?

I know it's another bump but with this and the fact that a contaminated spore isn't doing what it's supposed to do I'm starting to get to my wits end with this. I've spent more time googling and trying to fix both issues than actually playing, it puts one real damper on the game to the point where I've not played in two days because I'm worried there's something wrong with my game, maybe due to cloud saves.
Come to think of it I did save when I first met Jahan right before speaking to him I think but after speaking to the thing he keeps I a cage, I'm not sure when exactly that was however; it might have been when I switched from laptop to desktop and that might have caused the issue?

Anyway just wondering if anyone has heard of any 'dev style' mods whee I can just change my save to say that I did speak to Jahan so I hopefully log into a working game, or one where I can maybe use the dev console like in a Bethesda RPG (TES/FO) game.
