Can anyone help out?
I've tried reloading 50 hours back and I can get the quest advanced but if I talk to jahan now the quest is still stuck at "find the demonologist" and Jahan just acts like I'm not Lohse.
I could try to get Lohse to leave the party but because Lohse is my Avitar I can't do that.
Is there a save game editor I can use to just check the box in that quest line.
Or can I continue without Jahan?
Lohse does indeed still have the Lohse tag and I've had Lohse specific conversation options over the past 50 hours too.
Jahan talks to me like he would any other party member, it's really strange.
The only things I haven't tried (because they would take time away from enjoying the game though I'm not enjoying it as much now I've found this out) I'll see if I can make Jahan remember who I am somehow, maybe teleport him to force a conversation or keep playing the Lohse quest line without him.
I'll be furious if I'm locked out of the ending I was aiming for because of a bug.
Edit: sorry for the double post.
Also I spoke to Jahan with every other character in my party (and I have no mercs and haven't had any) and Jahan opens with the "come in, out if the darkness" line yet he acts like he's spoken with Lohse before as he's given out his source quest so the only person who could have spoken to him is Lohse. Yet the quest is still stuck at him.
This issue is less common. I’ve seen it, but not often. Most of the time it was immediate enough that players fixed it with a reload. I’m assuming that you have one reason or another not to do that.
To be fair, I don’t believe he’s a hugely valuable asset to her quest. Though I don’t know if there’s some trigger he might be connected with that would change something. His interactions with Lohse are unique after all. So I can’t say for certain another issue wouldn’t come up later.
I think at the time I was playing, spoke to jahan, assumed it was done, went to bed or went off to do something and completely forgot about jahan because I had a whole stack of other quests. However thinking back on it something definitely seemed off when I met him, maybe I got a blank text box with just "1." as the option and ignored it forgetting that he was important or maybe I'm overthinking and misremembering.
I only realized when doing the third ritual (checked the wiki wondering if changing something on bloodmoon changed how the ritual went out of curiosity) after progressing another 50 hours of gameplay (though maybe 1/5th of it was inventory management and 1/4 of it was exploration) so I could probably get it down to 26-27 hours, maybe even 10 hours if I just powered through everything but doing something you've already done immediately over again would probably just make me rage
quit.
You said that Jahan isn't a requirement for her quest however? If this is true I guess I can just keep on playing and see what happens, maybe after I help him at Bloodmoon he'll realize who I am.
You don't know of any devkit style mods where you can just reset character conversations/manipulate conversation trees or check off part of a quest?
Come to think of it I did save when I first met Jahan right before speaking to him I think but after speaking to the thing he keeps I a cage, I'm not sure when exactly that was however; it might have been when I switched from laptop to desktop and that might have caused the issue?
Anyway just wondering if anyone has heard of any 'dev style' mods whee I can just change my save to say that I did speak to Jahan so I hopefully log into a working game, or one where I can maybe use the dev console like in a Bethesda RPG (TES/FO) game.
