Smugglers cache (woodpile)

So the chest icon for a smuggler's cache is on my map behind the woodpile in act II.
I've tried manually digging by using a shovel (all around and over the chest icon) in my hotbar and nothing gets dug up.
Is this a bug? Could I have found it earlier? I have a character with (fairly, sebille has spotted pretty much every other hidden item thus far) and even boosting her wits with peace of mind doesn't reveal anything.
Could I have found this earlier and the icon has only just been placed or something?

Sounds like you need more wits. If you have a pumpkin, combine it with a pot over a fire to make pumpkin soup. It’s another two wits. Act two starts wanting 20ish wits to spot stuff.
