Black Ring at Ancestor Tree kicking my you know what
I'm three quarters through level 15. Lizard 2H tank/necro/poly, Ranger/Summoner, Cleric/necro, Geomancer(main)/Aero. Their equipment looks good but I can't beat these guys. Tried kiting them back to Advocate but he's the only one who fights. Started hitting hard the summoners but can't kill em fast enough. I've tried the tricks in my book. I don't have troubles in battles....except now. I'm getting alot of fire....wonder if blessing the fire would help. Have't tried that. Tips?

No it wont help because they will turn it to necro fire the very next turn. You can teleport the brute guy far away from the fight and he wont participate also wait for the summoners to cast shackless on their friends before you start the fight it helps a bit. And get some knockback arrows for your ranger to keep them cc'ed

Little tip:
Before you start the fight you can teleport the destroyers corpse (the fat bald guy theyre trying to revive) far far away and he wont aggro when you attack them by the tree. Just make sure hes far enough away, like 3-4 teleports.

The rest are squishy as hell just kill them like you would anyone else, focus them down 1 at a time

Tactician? You have a significantly physical heavy team and the evasion aura the fat one has might be the issue. If so, you need to rid yourself of him. Oil, chill and root effects all lower dodge to bring them into the realm of being attackable, otherwise you need to teleport him away. Many of them should have low physical, possibly none. Just knock down and finish them. Use a tremor grenade or Earthquake spell, they don’t miss and should set the knockdown.

Beyond that, the only help I can offer would be an in-depth analysis of your team and builds.

I've been using the fextralife builds and recommended party composition for newbie types. Made a few changes. Like.....giving my Geomancer the minimum for transportation and other useful skills. Three points in Aero I think. Been using global cooling and rain alot with my Hydro cleric. Haven't considered the fat dude....I'll need to experiment with that. Thanks for the tips so far! BTW, this is the best game I've played. Ever. I'm already thinking of a second go with different party ideas.

Fextralife has decent concepts, though many focus more on an RP concept than effective build as well. I’ve never really looked at many of them but they’re not always the best. Good starting points though.

That said, builds make 90% of the difficulty. A bad setup makes Explorer seem hard whereas a good build can make Tactician a breeze. Usually, if you’re struggling somewhere there’s a way to overcome that with your builds. Be it a new tactic or combo or simply changing them entirely, it usually helps.

Also bear in mind that you’re in the last section of the map and generally should have been level 15 long enough that you should be 16 before or on that island. If you’re just 14, you’re a tad underleveled for it. Level means a lot, so it might be a factor. Is all your gear up to date? Weapon users should have weapons of their same level and armor should generally be kept within 2 levels of yourself.

I'm 15 but if I get through this fight then I'll kill the Advocate and then go to Jahan. And be very close to 16. I still haven't done the crypt in Blackpits cave. I solved the puzzle but I think I might be under leveled to take that piece on. I think my builds are good. The eternal Knight for Red Prince appears quite good. Use Necro for armour and life leach, poly for bull rush and tentacle lash. I might respect summoning for my ranger. Seven points in and it doesn't seem powerful. I do have the source wolf though so maybe I should dump summoning into warfare and make Iban have more bite. I like my builds other that, but in the end you don't know what you don't know. Right?!?!

Summoning doesn't really work as a side skill. The ranger/summoner concept is everywhere and I never understood why. A summoner can use a bow, but you don't build for it beyond finesse. Summoning though, falls off a few levels after you can cap it, around level 12. After that, literally any other build you can go is better. If you never cap it, it really isn't worth the points.

Ok I ended up defeating the black ring. Lost 2 members but the fight was much easier. Started with transporting out the black ring destroyer they were torchering before the fight began. There seemed to be alot less adds. Anyway on to the Advocate.

I respec'd my Ranger, removed summoning as much as I could (2 points left) put the points in welfare and he is much more potent. With the points split between warfare and summoning neither the incarnate nor Ranger did very much damage and Iban was dying too quickly with long battles. Anyway, I took out the Advocate and his gang rather easily. Finished up with Lohan and made some progress into level 16. I'll be happy to have new scenery soon. Thanks for the help!

it's the first thing that pops up in google searches unfortunately. It's really subpar compared to just going full Archer since neither you nor the summon does damage.

Tried it with my friends, they were spamming Mass Corpse Explosion everywhere while my Incarnate died the second turn it was summoned on Level 15
