Have you read all of the books/letters that you found in the boat house?
By this point, you should have your second source point at least and should have the skill needed to kill the shriekers.
I do everything I can for XP, complete every mission, kill every non important NPC etc....
-Fights on the coast and saving the bridgekeeper.
-Driftwood and the quests within
-Wreckers cave leading up to Mordus, followed by exploring his house again
-Graveyard
-Paladin bridgehead and surrounding fields
-Blackpits and the cave there
-Lumbermill and the elf camp
-Cloisterwood and the various bosses there
-Paradise Downs
-Bloodmoon.
This is a rough idea anyway. While you don't have to do everything in exact order, straying too much leads to issues being underleveled.
