4 Player Online Co-op
I don't know why I can't find the answer to this question anywhere or how no one has asked this but can you have up to 4 players in online co-op, all from their own PC's? NOT 2 PC's running split screen; 4 separate screens.

Yes. Co op only works with 2 players split screen. You can play online as long as everyone has the game on their account. You can’t buy just one copy and play 4 people at once though.

Is this strictly a coop game? Or can it be played entirely in single player?

it can be played solo (with or without a full party of player controlled characters), but is much much much more fun multiplayer.

It can be a decent experience alone, but with players things get crazy. Finding good player matches is key for a good experience. you'll notice that TimeZone and days available are very important as well as difficulty, play-style, lone-wolf? mods? among many other things. They were so necessary that I had to create group cards for all of us that list all of those different varieties. We've seen reasonable success and also a weeding out of those bad players that ruin everyone's game.

Single player is multiplayer. They’re the exact same experience. You can even have a friend join your solo game midway through and they’ll take control of any available companions you have with you. Anything that can happen co-op can happen solo and vice versa (mostly).

Or in my case, instead of inviting a friends into a solo runs I used the same trick to get my lazy BF to actually play an RPG all the way through with me by handling his character management for him between sessions.
