Missing Children?
OK, so I cannot find Mody at all. I saw somewhere that the kids vanish if you kill the blind elf when Lohse is in your party. However; I attacked Lohse instead of the lady she was going to eat. Do the kids run away after this regardless of the outcome?

Definitely not. I've also helped Saheila against Lohse and when returning to the cave later, the kids were still there. Sounds more like a bug, or perhaps another event that might have effect on them? Did you by any chance escape Fort Joy and then ported back and went to the cave?

Nah - still trying to get enough exp to be able to take on the fort.

Well escaping Fort Joy came to my mind because it's a major event, that could possibly trigger some things, but honestly shouldn't affect the cave, so the missing kids might be a bug, or if you use mods, then some can also break the game in various ways.

Just went and bought some pumpkin soup to up wits and find the hatch to the Lord. Kids are still missing - so I guess I'm getting screwed out of that exp...

The only time I saw him "disappear" was when he was playing with me and turned invisible. Then I couldn't find him later when I went back. Eventually I found the entrance that was buried and he was with Lord Withermore in the cave. He stayed there and didn't come back out.

No I didn't get the quest until I found the opening and talked to Lord Withermore.

Ahhh, maybe I started playing when I first visited the cave and just have not found him.

So are all kids missing, or just Mody? Did you trigger his Hide & Seek game?
And try saving and re-loading the game, sometimes it fixes bugs. I was stuck in combat mode in Kemm's vault with these Lucian automatons dead and non of my characters had a turn. I couldn't exit combat mode by any means, so I saved the game, re-loaded and combat mode wasn't active anymore.

All of the kids are gone. I've tried closing the game a few times to no avail.

You are only in the beginning of Ft. Joy just start over. I started over 3 times in Ft. Joy in the beginning.
