Can i play the game with a friend who has a pirated copy?

I got the original but he cant afford the game neither can i to gift him atm, can we play coop maybe with hamachi or some other lan program?

but a Guess I can make is if the game lacks a LAN feature then no. It's possible somebody made a clackfix out there, but if your friend was careless neough to use it with his main account (meaning not using a throwaway account unlinked to his main) could risk either a gameban or perhaps steam ban idk how they'd handle that really.

lol Don't bother pirating a copy. The game is DRM free so you can run an instance of it on your computer and your friend can run another instance with your game on his computer. He still needs to download it first though.

Just... don't open it through steam. Open through the .exe file. You won't be able to connect with each other through steam though, so you'll have to connect through the room id in game.

Buy a Steam gift card for $20, send the code to your friend, and he makes up the difference.

Disclaimer: You can get banned from the steam community if you talk about piracy. I would really recommend not to talk about piracy on the steam forums. It's against the Steam Community ToS. After reading what i said below, delete the topic immediately or risk getting
temporarily/permanently banned.

I'm not going to talk about piracy at all here but here's some tips to play together completely legal without buying the game twice:

- A GOG copy of the game can be installed on as many PC's as you want: It is DRM-free
- It's fully legal to play together as long as the game owner legally owns all hardware it's installed on(as by GOG's license agreement).
- You can use Discord Rich Presence to join eachother's game as the game fully supports Rich Presence. When you start a game, just go to their discord profile and press Join Game.

as a sidenote: Rich Presence also works on the Steam version of the game.

I would really recommend to buy the game, whether on Steam or GOG.

Ok, why on Earth would someone pirate a game which costs 45 Euros and gives you > 100 hours of amazing experiences and fun in return?

Pirates are one of the reasons why we don't get more games of this quality and I find pirating games (and applications) of this quality outright disgusting.
