What 3 roles would best compliment a pyrokinetic battle mage?
I'm thinking of running a Red Prince playthrough and make him into being a pyrokinetic battlemage (Pyro/warfare). I heard that battle mages really don't mesh well with having lots of melee partners so I was brain storming what would go well with this style of play and came up with this:

Hydrosophist / Summoner (Human?) - The hydrosophist would be more of a support since that skill tree has all the magic armor buffs. The summoning would allow it to become a secondary melee fighter and if cast in fire wouldn't be damaged by my pyro setting everything on fire.

Geomancer / necromancer (Fane?) - This one would mesh the best with a pyrokinetic build. I picked Fane because the poison can be used defensively and offensive and the armor buffs would also come in handy as well.

Aerothurge / polymorph (???) - This is what I have holding down the forth spot. Its a place holder at the moment.

I'm running Fane as a Pyro staff battlemage with some geo, latterly full pyro/geo. I've got the Red Prince as a summoner with 1 handed and shield, Ifan with bow and some polymorph and Lohse being water with some aero, latterly full water/aero.

Summoners are best focused solely on that to start with and I've only seen them split in builds when lone wolfing. Checked this out? It's got loads of builds to base your own on

If you're going to add a summoner then you want to go full summoner first, so they wouldn't be doing much hydro (or anything else). That said, they'll synergize well since the summon gains the element it's created on - which alongside a fire battlemage means a fire incarnate/totems, and those won't mind being wreathed in more of the same.

I know that its best to make the summoner be a full focus summoner. Summoners are my go-to role since there's so much varsatility behind it and it will meld with anything. I was going to make it in tandem with my hydrophist because my hydrophist would ultimately be a support style character with almost no attack spells. It would be under powered early on because of the summoner primary focus, which would be fine since I would only be using the spells that give magic armor, heal or make rain. I'm unsure how it would work in practice but theory crafting thats what I was planning on doing with it. If that won't work I will match it with low huntsman and use elementalist arrows and hope that that works out.

That fourth slot I may make it an elementalist style mage, but focus it solely on being a ranged mage. Aero, Pyro and Geo spells with far out man. Then make Red Prince Pyro with warfare and polymorph mixed in and make him focus the melee type attacks. I was thinking of running a staff on him but don't know if stuff like "sparking swings"

The geomancer I could combine with hydrophist and make that into a tank style character with a wand and a shield. Not sure where to go beyond that though.

I've always preferred mixed parties, as you're more flexible. So I'd add some physical in there. An archer of some form would offer you just that, mix a point or two of pyro for the huntsman traps as well. The pyro points will also add their 5% towards fire damage from fire arrows. Those fire arrows will also gain about 10% more when fired at burning targets. This will add physical damage for synergy while also allowing for some useful flexibility. Your overall fire damage would be low too, so if you had another mage build with fire damage as a main, you'd be able to use the archer character with searing daggers to deal light damage to your fire mages to set up their elemental affinities to increase first turn burst as long as your archer goes first.
