How to switch characters using an xbox1 controller

I’m having trouble switching characters using an Xbox one controller in this steam version. The game has a tutorial section and it tells me to use LT, but that doesn’t do anything. I can use LS to point at a character, press X for actions like talk, chain/unchain or info but nothing on how to switch between party members. The tutorial also tells me you can switch characters in the inventory screen, but how? As far as I can tell LT does nothing.

have you tried rebinding your controller input in the settings?

i used a PS2 controller and LT seems to work perfectly fine for me
