Why are the loading times so terrible?

Love this game but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ do the loading screens feel like forever, upwards to sitting around for 10 minutes in Act 2. Very frustrating as we are doing a co-op run.

Use norbytes script extender to lower your load times.
If that link doesn't work you should be able to find an odin blade mod that has a working link. The script extender cut my load time down from 10 minutes down to 30 seconds.

I mean, I never had a loading time more than 30 seconds. You got a beefy enough PC for this kind of thing?

It's what happens when you have a lot of mods in your game. Since it needs to load more things it quickly adds a lot of time. If that's not his problem though then yeah its his pc. The script extender solves the mod load time issue. Or from being really far away from each other. And if I had to take a guess being far away from each other and using mods would make it take even longer for the games to sync together.

Performance wise the game runs smooth as butter (after I can actually load in), though if connectivity issues or poor net speeds reflect loading times then that might be the cause as we are playing from different countries.

I did experience longer loading times when I played with a friend from the United Kingdom, but not enough that it ever was annoying. Mostly, my loading times are around twenty seconds. Could you play a singleplayer game and document the load times?

Mods. Mods will literally kill your load time into the actual game. On RAID 0 HDD or SSD with the Gift Bag mods enabled, it can take 1-1:30 minutes to load into the game. Other than that, everything should be near instant in game on a drive with 250+ MB/s reads.
