Need help for "Hunger from Beyond" quest

The archeologist's spirit says I should take him to his "place of longing" in the blackpits, but when I get there, there's nothing there, nothing happens. That place isn't even mentioned in the quest walkthrough on the wiki. Kind of don't want to leave act 2 and possibly miss out on a piece of the quest gear. There's the red quest flag in the blackpits inside the cave, but as I said, nothing's there.

It's in the mines, in the area where you have to blow the wall to get inside.

nvm, it was a bug with spirit vision, as I have the permanent spirit vision turned on, but the ghosts didn't appear. Just had to reset it and now it works fine. Should've thought about trying that before, eh

Not a bug of spitrit vision. You need to worn something from "devourer set" of armor (you should have shoes and gloves at this point) then after you blown the wall in mine you will encounter a orange "spirit vision like" archeological tools. Interact with them to finnish the quest. Took me a while to figure it out.

Willhelm almost has it correct. Specifically it seems you need to have the devourer boots in your inventory (or equipped) for it to appear.
