Anyone know how to activate the Ancient Altar in Act II? (New gift bag?)
It says something about Duna's Undertaker and wanting a sacrifice, somewhat close to Driftwood, South-West.

Google gives no results :tired_tk:

craft source-infused meat with raw mutton + source orb + earth essence. throw it on the altar.
I found the book where you learn to craft this and the Vulture armor set in Fort Joy, but I'm not certain if it can be found elsewhere.

Thanks very much! I'll leave this thread up just in case someone else needs help too since I couldn't find anything on this topic :idglass:
How did you all learn how to make the source-infused meat in the first place. I read both books and don;t recall any mention of the recipe anywhere.
BUMP! Do you need to have read the book/ obtained the recipe to be able to craft this?

No, you can craft any recipe in the game without needing to read a book.
Also note there are 2 ways to do this quest. 1 is the peaceful way and 1 is the combat way. Since the quest really doesn't give any experience to note, and it is a tough battle, the best way to do it is the peaceful way. You can read up on the method, plus you can do the peaceful way at a lower level thus getting the armor together easier. If i remember it only gives like a total of like 200 more experience to fight instead of the peaceful method with Beast.
You dont need to do that. Just insert any of the many hearts in the room. It works

I'm sorry to say this but this is a stupid advice the fight grants ~400 Exp (not 400k not 40k fourhundred exp) the loot is meager AT BEST (like 1-3 tormented Sould and a small 3 digit amount of gold ~200-300).
Also the fight is insanely hard compared to JUST answering the caretakers questions properly and getting literally AN EXTREMELY powerful level 14 set (which might easily carry you through loads of fights ahead and at this chapter) for a Ranger at level 11 or less?
