Where is Peeper?

While doing the quest "counting your chicken" I went to the hen to see how the chickens were doing, and found them all dead. When I talked to the ghost mama she asked me to help her poor little boy Peeper. and take him to his dad.
From that moment on, Peeper was following me and calling me mama, but as soon as I teletransported to the closest waypoint to where Peeper's dad could be, I found some deers, not that friendly and had a fight.
After that, I realized that Peeper wasn't with me anymore, he wasn't following me, he was not in the hen with his ghost mama and ofc not with his dad who tells me to bring the lad to him.
So, did Peeper got lost in the teletransportation? Or did the poor boy just run away when he saw the not so friendly deers?
Is someone else also looking for Peeper? Has someone found him?

Peeper can die. I had to heal him any number of times.

but he wasn't on that fight or around me when I started the fight.

Some reason followers sometimes don't teleport with you when you use the waypoint shrines. Pyramid seems to work when shrine teleport doesn't. If you find him again, try that.

Peeper and the black cat, I'm pretty sure, follow the first person they come in contact with. Could be that he followed someone else in your party someplace.

save your game reload if he dosnt respawn with you at your feet then chance are he died in some fire or some battle or such.

Found him! apparently he gets lost with the tp, you need to walk with him.
