How to enchant melee weap with oil barrel?

I think I've read in some wiki that combining a melee weapon with an oil barrel at a campfire can add permanent fire damage, but is that correct? I've tried with my axe but it gave me nothing.

You need to combine all three at once. You also need to have the extra crafting recipes gift bag enabled.

Yeah, if you haven't enabled the giftbag mods, you can't do the fire enchant. Poison enchant is in the basegame though, and only needs a poison source, of which barrels work the best, as they aren't consumed.
