What exactly is the Wayfarer class supposed to do?
So it implies you split between Physical and Magical damage. But If you use a Bow (which is mostly physical with Hunstman skills, you will likely do/spec mostly physical damage, right? Then there's Impalement which can root something, but that's it. I mean, the starter Fossil Strike may be kinda useful since it slows enemies from reaching you, fine. But what else?

Dust Blast? That's a Source spell and reduces their vision, fine, but that's a Source spell and requires stripping magic armor (which most likely was stripped by a Mage if you had one). Even worse is the Acid Spores which requires 2 Source.

I mean, you can add Torturer Talent and go for Worm Tremor (Magic Armor again) I guess, but that's really the only way you get the best out of it.

All the Nova spells are limited from your "wayfaring" positions.

The only other spell I can see valuable is MAYBE Fortify, where combined with First Aid, you may be able to be self sufficient being out of sight from your party or something. But ideally you shouldn't get hit as much as Fighter anyway.

I mean, the oil effects are good for reducing enemy dodge so you can land hits. Mixed with Worm Tremor and things...

I mean, its basically just a standard archer build with some support spells.

If anything I would think Aerotheurge would be more appropriate.

Favorable wind makes you move around faster to position yourself away from threats.
Blinding Radiance... it's Magic Armor based too, but at least for ALL those that lack it (easily stripped by Mage friend) makes them blind when they come up to your non-shield-character.
Erratic Wisp, enemy archers use this, since it makes sense.
Teleport, heck just push them further away while adding Physical damage to complement your bow skills. Even on top of someone then Ricochet, why not.
Netherswap... Mage sat in your seat?
Evasion? No shield right? No problem, Buy you some time to Netherswap melee friend next in line even.
And heck, since you may go for Warfare to add Physical damage, why not Breathing Bubble too...while you put a Smoke Arrow on yourself.

You can use elemental arrows if you want to strip them of their magic armor so you can use skills like throw dust, etc. You'd deal less damage for using int skills as an archer (since you don't want to mix your damage attributes), but the extra control may be worth it.
