Not saving HDR settings
My HDR default settings are much too dark. I try to reduce the contrast, but when I press "apply" or "accept" it reverts to the original setting. How do I get the game to actually accept my HDR settings?

I have exactly the same issue. I guess it's just broken. For me the default settings are far too bright, so bright it bleaches many things out as pure white.

I'm not sure, but aren't monitors built with such option to tweak brightness and contrast? If the game fails there, can't it be solved by the monitor's own options? It may be annoying to tweak your monitor everytime you start/exit the game, but might be the only option, or just go with the game being too bright, that's also an option, I guess.

No, the iMac monitor only has brightness controls, not contrast. So that doesn't work.

I couldn't find an issue and took a guess at it and I think I figured out how to fix it. When you first load the game, you're given a different menu for brightness and contrast options. In the graphicSettings.lsx file, we can retrigger that different menu to load.

That file is located within User/Documents/Larian Studios/Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition. Just open it up with something like Notepad and find the "ShowHDRCalibration" attribute. Change the Attribute ID Type and Value from 0 to 1, save, then reload the game and those initial option screens should pop up. Set it to your desired options (should have to do it twice??) and you should be all set.

What I think is happening is two versions of the main menu load after that, with only the latter being the real menu... something must have gone wrong on Larian's end and they didn't properly link all the settings correctly or something?

It doesn't work for me

I was able to solve this problem in the following way:

  1. When I adjust HDR, after the change, I do not click on the "apply" button, but press ENTER on the keyboard.
  2. After that I press esc in settings where a dialog box about unsynced settings appears where I press Apply. And miraculously, it works.

I play on macbook pro m1
