Hannag's Bargain - stuck?
I did what she asked me to do - go and find her apprentice.

So I went and found that guy, hanging on gallows and being interrogated by Johnathan. Then I spent two hours trying to save this poor soul but gave up finally. This battle was doomed: a battle between human (me) and stupid AI (Gwydian Rince). I was conjuring protection domes, teleported this Gwydian-man everywhere where I could reach, built up a quite sophisticated strategy of keeping him out... but the bastard couldn't leave the battle anyway and was returning like a frenzy moron, running through the flames, horrors, and other ordeals totally ignoring my domes and my actions. Like he could win. Oh yeah. So he died again and again.

Then I return back to Hannag. Apparently she is quite unhappy about this death and then...
I see the persuasion dialog and the "leave" option there.
I opt to leave (for now) because I cannot maintain all needed civil skills at my level (12) and so I visit the ship pretty often to restat. (Damn, this looks like a cheat, and I personally hate this part, but I couldn't find any better solution, anyways...)
Instead of actually leaving the conversasion, it continues.
She gives me a book, and.... the end.
She didn't teach me anything, the quest is hanging in the list (Hannag's Bargain) but it doesn't continue.
Any ideas?

Oh this one piece of ♥♥♥♥ npc, I had to use teleport on all characters to keep his stupid sorry as from the necrofire. And it looks like a glitch, reload or just leave it be.

Ah, Gwydian Rince. The character with the least amount of spatial awareness amidst all the flames, that loves casting Dazing Bolt on me specifically. If you do manage to save him then he'll have a heartwarming reunion with his family (or not if you let them...well, y'know.) Unfortunately for you, Gwydian being saved is the prime objective to get Hannag to agree to help you grow in power - otherwise you're going to have go to go with one of the other 6~ remaining options on the isle. Fear not, though; the game won't let you make a complete mess of the situation in such a way that would get you softlocked.

Normally those masters would give you a book if you fulfil their request while already being at max power, so I guess that's her recompense from saving her earlier. As for the quest still being open? Not much you can do in that scenario, really.

If you already have 3 source points, all she does is give a book. You don't really want her source point either as it costs you your pet pal talent if you have it.

As for civil skills, each character should only pick one and stick to it. Don't try to juggle multiple at once, it never works. Each character gets just one civil skill and you stack it up to keep it relevant. Thievery and barter being two you can swap out as needed.
Ok, folks, thanks. So I was not the only one who experienced some difficulties with saving poor but brave Gwydian LOL
As for Source Points - I've already finished enough quests to gather 3 of those.

Yeah, he’s a fool. Though if you’re heavy on hydro mages, that entire fight can be made easier as you can actually prevent the fires from breaking out. If you make the fire elementals wet when they spawn, they won’t create trails of fire as they move. This prevents them from igniting the oil all over. If you can keep the magisters on the low ground to keep the oil ones busy, you can even burn away much of the oil, or wash it away, and prevent it igniting when the fire ones spawn. I’ve actually managed to do that fight almost entirely fire-free. The only fires were small and contained such that Gwidian never had any to stand in.

I did this on tactician lone wolf and just kept my party of two up on the platform with him. About half way through everything will be fire but he tends to stay up there and if you keep his magic shields up he tends to be okay. Sometimes he'll walk about a bit up there but he has pretty high hp so you can get a heal off if you need to.

Yeah, I believe Mr. Rince was implemented as a real munchkin with bloodlust at his very heart!
I even teleported Oils onto our platform [*sick*] just to make him happy! Otherwise he was running away.

But I'm done with that quest. And while I regret that he couln't unite with his family, I think the burden of this sin is on devs, not on me :)

There is a really backwards way of saving Gwydian Rince without engaging in the battle atop the oil platform. I hadn't talked to Hannag yet about her bargain and I journeyed only as far as the graveyard where you discover Ryker. If you explore the graveyard, you'll eventually come upon a chest doused with flames. Near this location is a cliff wall overlooking a boat dock. You can get to the dock using teleport and the pyramids to bring the rest of the party. There's a hostage situation at the boat house. After I dealt with that, I headed toward the cave that lies beyond the oil platform. Since I wanted to continue to do business with the merchant outside the cave and complete the tasks inside the cave, I teleported the merchant further away and got inside the cave without having to kill her. Gwydian Rince was on the platform before I went into the cave. I completed all my cave tasks. When I exit the cave, the merchant is still there. She's upset. You have to give her stuff to get back on her good side and do business with her. Jonathan is upset too for some reason. Now, there is nobody on the oil platform. I head beyond the gate that leads to the home where Gwydian Rince's family has been taken hostage. Gwydian Rince is standing outside the front door of his home surrounded by the Magisters. I don't interact with anyone there. Instead, I make my way to the platform that overlooks the home with the hostages and Gwydian Rince. Using teleport, I snatch up Gwydian Rince and his family and place them inside the abandoned home located behind me. They won't talk to you. You can't untie them. The game doesn't consider them rescued yet. The Magisters don't do anything while this is happening. I had already killed the guard that patrols the gate before I got to this point. You might want to do that first as well. I prepared the battleground with lots of oil first and triggered a battle with the Magisters. After the last enemy died, the hostages were considered saved. You can untie everyone. Gwydian Rince tells you he's taking off somewhere. Hannag will consider her bargain fulfilled once the Magisters pursuing her are killed.

Just win the fight, dont try to teleport him anywhere. The platform gives you the high ground. Bless the fires a couple of times to turn them into healing flames. Heal the guy or give him armor spells.

What is this about losing Pet Pal?
