Int vs. Wit
So if you take Savage Sortilage I guess...

What is better to pump and when?
On the one hand, you get guaranteed damage increase, but a small increment. On the other hand you get a chance to blow out the enemy armor and/or life with a much bigger damage boost by surprise before they can heal. And you get to go first practically all the time I presume (unless there's a hard scripted ambush event maybe?)

Also does Scoundrel work for spells? Like instead of pumping Pyro, Geo, etc. past 5 (or 3 if you roll like that), you can go for crit bonus on all spells? Does it effect Summons and Totems too?

Int will always be better than wits even for a crit spell caster. Your asking for potential dmg vs guarenteed dmg.

That being said, with enough wits your crit can be high 80% or more. You can raise them evenly , one point int one point wits. Or boost one first then the other.

Scoundrel effects critical hit damage bonus. Which applies to all effects that crit. Just like a staff boosts crit dmg, and the 2H ability will boost it further.

Summons are not effected by any of your stats. Only your characters level.

Wits is always a secondary stat.
Int needs to always be capped at 40. The rest you can dump in Wits.

Wit should be prioritized only for your initiator but not for other members of your team.
If you're going for crits then it's better to calculate how much crit you will have with gear/talents/buffs and put points into wits accordingly. You can always put 1 point into INT and WITS at level up tbh if you go for early Savage Sortilege.

Let's say you're level 10 with 10 points into INT and 10 points into WITS:

10 points into wits = 10% crit
Hot Blooded = 10% crit
Lvl 10 Peace of Mind = 6% crit
Medium Wits Potion = 3% or 6% if Five Star Dinner
Carrot = 4% crit or 8% w/FSD
Blood Rose Potion = 1% or 2% w/FSD
Large Flame Rune = 5% crit

39% Crit chance or 47% crit chance with Five Star Dinner, at the cost of 3AP for buffs/consumables.

6% more crit if you smoke some alertness herbmix
or
8% more crit if you smoke potent alertness herbmix

There might be more but I got tired of searching, use that as a base I guess. Also scoundrel should work for spells.

Or, you know... you could be evil and do a little glitch that gives you extra attribute points so you can max everything at 40 >.>

What about using the Polymorph tree? If you've already got enough Magic skill points (3 or 5) for whatever spells you need, is it advisable to just go Polymorph? It's 5% for all damage right? as opposed to 5% for that element.

Yes, though each element scales damage similar to Warfare for physical, where the 5% from say Pyro is worth more damage than 5% from INT, though for magic it is only per element. If you primarily focus a single element, it'd be better to pump that element skill, whereas if you're using many elements, Poly would be better.
