I sent one person in first with some invisibility potions and who knew tornado and had him clear out the initial fog. He also knew throw dust, which helped clearing out some of the fog tornado missed. After that, I delayed his turn to go last while invisible with 6 AP and had the rest of the party pyramid to him. One thunderstorm later, and I was just picking off stragglers who were stunned.

Based on the above advice, I sent up one character to clear out the deathfog with Tornado. Then I took out Loic's support crew while keeping him at bay via Teleport spells and properly placed summons, before teleporting Loic down to the village where the villagers, my summons and my characters beat him to death. Mob justice in Divinity! (This took multiple tries with my characters at L18, Loic & crew is L20).

The two people above who recommended using tornado know exactly what's up. very useful skill. however, you can still get killed easily if he decides to teleport you into a patch of deathfog or teleports a deathfog barrel on to you. I just did this fight today and after a few trys, we figured this strategy out: Use tornado to clear out path to the high ground on the right (should be next to where Loic is standing), have ranger with high initiative start battle, ranger should shoot the two deathfog barrels and then cast fortify on himself and others near Loic (so he can't teleport you). From there, just use charm on the bone beast or knockdown on Loic and you should be good. We were level 18 with two Lone Wolf characters.

Oooooo yeah, teleporting him out would be nice. Too high a jump for him to get back up

Took him out pretty easily at level 17 with a couple Lone Wolf characters. Left one at the bottom of the cliff and snuck up to the right with the other then teleported him down. Character at the bottom dumped physical damage on him, character at the top jumped down to help. Then just lobbed a charm grenade up and the construct detonated the volatile voidlings and cleared almost everything.

Buff stone skin to prevent teloportations
Or teleport + swap with totem him to lowground - far away from others enemy

Also, sneaking on the little platform on the left, then teleporting/netherswapping them into a group of 3 or more followed by dust blast or pyroclastic eruption will likely one shot the group, with dust blast also clearing a portion of the fog.

I used the tornado as mentioned below, but instead just tac retreated after i got engaged and kept doing it until the fog was gone.. as for the boss, just kill a few of the voidwoken, jump out until you get down to boss.. as for him, just knock his magic off in 1 round and stunlock him lol. that fight is meant to be cheesed at lvl 18 lets be honest. nobody will win by running in to his deathfog camp and engaging.

You could also have a party of nothing but Undead. They don't get affected by deathfog.

just came around here because I searched if I should kill him or not (just arrived in this act). I simply allured him with one living on the edge character to a point from where I was able to teleport it to maladie and others (teleport mage standing near maladie with little sight down).

I had a ranger and a scoundrel: The ranger used farsight and skyshot to clear out the voidlings before the battle started and then when it began she moved within range of Loic to whittle down his armor before summoning her incarnate next to him with power infusion to strip off the remaining armor and knock him down (so he missed his turn). Then my scoundrel used cloak and dagger to teleport next to him and she finished him off with some backstabbing. The remaining voidwoken were easy. It's a good battle--you have to think how to avoid being teleported into the deathfog by him.
Best way to beat Loic is undead party obviously.
but still i got other solutions:
1) scorched voidwoken dealin INSANE damage on death (around 3500-5000 fire damage each one) and got -50% resist to fire, so ez way to beat Loic is teleport him right on fire larvas. Then u need focus only one of them.
2) kill larvas, then teleport Loic on corpses, then cast mass corpse expolsion. 90% he cant survive.
3) U need good archer with as many wits as possible (for close garanted crit and first turn). U should use stealth mode and go to he edge of nearest wooden platform. Use Presisious shot on Loic from stealth mode to get 50% more dmg (actually u need only destroy his phys armor). Combat begins, ur turn first. Use adrenaline, teleport Loic to other party. Use Canon shot on him, then Knockdown arrow. Kill him with other characters befor he got his 2-nd turn (or Knock him again)
4) Tornado tactics which already writtend up here
5) Jump to Loic as warrior and use Adrenaline, then Overpower on him. Best way he will be knocked down immediately. Other way - he lost all armor, so u can Knock him whth Ram or Battlestomp. Now just knock him each turn with knock arrows, war spells or Knocking grenades.

Other ones are a bit unfair:
I think any prebuffs before battles (or during the dialogs) is unfair play, but if i told u about those methods, keep in mind u can cast Clear mind, Haste, Encourage, etc before u initiate battle.

1) Get 4-5 corpses (sqirels near Lucian statue, deer at start of location, kill some piligrims idk). TP all corpses on a highground and place necromancer here in stealth mode. Wtih 2nd character just TP Loic on corpses, then use mass corpse explosion from stealth.
2) Lone wolf necromancer oneshot combo (watch utube for this it looks awesome, but completely unfair)
3) Hide all party at the edge of highground, TP Loic to hidden party, deal as many dmg from steals as possible with each character (Overpower with warrior, Arrow Spray as archer, Infest with necromancer). Just kill him before he can find you.
4) Hit'&'run - most dirty method. They can restore armor and shield out combat, but not HP. Learn Escape master talent on archer, shot Loic with Marksman's Fang and run away. Do it as many times as u need to kill Loic. Meh... its Disgusting.

Also I love this fight. One of rly chalengin one. One of 3 fights in da game which i couldnt faceroll with 1 character solo.

Since I havent learned Tornado yet and neither havent had the scroll I was forced to invent a new tactic. After several fails I ended with one pretty simple:
1. initiate fight and make him port close to your char (rest of party is far, only thing crucial for this strategy is to survive Loics initial blast - high vitality char, Living on the Edge skills, Dodge, ...)
2. port him even closer to the rest of the party
3. use every heal scroll / skill you have and high damage skills and finish him
4. deal with the rest of the party (easy part, I used charm granades and knockdown arrows)

Oneshot the guy with pyroclastic explosion or mass corpse explosion double cast (mce, skin graft, mce). Doable with no equips, no lone wolf and lvl 18.

made the fight easy by teleporting loic to my party, took out his physical armor and then just kept him pinned down with knockdown arrows while the rest of my party dealt with his voidwoken. had also cleared a patch of deathfog b4 hand with confiscated staff of the empire.
