Classic + lone wolf too easy, tactician + lone wolf too hard.

I've tried a variety of classes and setups and classic is too easy but tactician seems too hard. I'm using only 1 character by the way so that might be why.

Trying to find the sweet spot, a nice fair challenge was classic without lone wolf but it's pretty boring as you burn through all your skills in the first 2 turns.

Why don't you try 2 PCs w/ Lone Wolf, then, if you're insistent on Tactician difficulty? Why the push to do a solo run? You'll miss out on a lot of fun stuff, like companion quests and story arcs, it would seem to me.

Why go solo? Lone Wolf you are allowed to have 1 other party member with you and still get the bonuses.

Look up a honour mode solo guide, there are plenty out there that shows skills to take and strategies for the major fights.

I've completed the campaign already so now I kinda want to challenge myself. I just fancy running with one character only.

You could do a co-op lone wolf so you control one and someone else controls another, it does ad a bit more challenge. I've also played a co-op duo not using lone wolf.

Lone Wolf was never designed to be balanced around using one character. It's virtually impossible to beat Tactician using one party member.

can mess around with mods plenty add abilities, allow editing character more, make game harder etc... can balance it to how you want.

If you want solo on tactician, with or without lone wolf, you'd better get and abuse Cloack and/or invis potions. Either Living on the Edge or Shackles of Pain or both. Adrenaline and Death Wish can be useful too. Abuse turn delay.

If you craft and use Skin Graft scrolls you can probably beat the game with any build.

Sin tee has several solo lone wolf builds. Manithro used to run solo without Lone Wolf and Glass Cannon with different builds regularly, successfuly most of the time from what I've heard.

Yes I am judging his skill and grasp of D2:OS on his comment: because when someone calls Mages a "pathetic class" when they are, in fact, the most powerful class in the end game, that person has a fundamentally flawed perception of what makes a class "bad" and "good." Let alone pathetic.

Also, it doesn't help that the very first "solo honor Tactician run" ends in failure. The first 6 videos were misleading, because he doesn't complete the run. He doesn't have a right to imply success.

The (important) fact is, Manithro has succeeded at completing solo runs without Lone Wolf.

I already told you that wasn't his first run. He had done it before. He wasn't a YouTuber, he was a twitch Streamer. Luckly his twitch clips survived

Regardless: anyone, I said anyone, who claims that mage is a "pathetic" archetype in D2:OS have no idea what they're talking about. My Pyro mage soloed the entire last battle by himself in one turn, without letting the fight hit phase 2 -- and that's just my personal experience. Every experienced player knows that the mage-archetype is incredibly strong late game.

Manithro is relevant too of course. But you're too skeptical. Clearly you'll only believe when you see it, but his his old streams aren't available. So I'll stop trying to convince you to believe he's legit.
