HELP. can;t get source points

Just finished decrepid ruins. went inside to get source points. it's not working. I hit "a" (use) and I don't get points. Can't use the lever. What can I do

The source vat leaves a puddle on the ground. Your non collared character can stand on the source puddle made to soak up that source which will give you a pip on that character.

The lever is cursed. If you had some sort of.. blessing you could remove it. I have heard that it is quite powerful and requires source though

I don't have a non collared char.

That's why then.
A character can't use source until they have their source collar removed.
