where do i find(and remove) mod files?
i want to start a fresh game but for some reason i cant seem to locate where steam is saving the mod files i downloaded. if anyone would have advice it would be pretty awesome.

Even Steam Workshop's mods are stored in the "C:\Users\<your account>\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition\Mods" folder, I found them there after unsubbing from some of them (outdated mostly), deleting them will erase them from the mod section ingame (some of the unsubbed were still in there, the unsubscribe function doesn't sometimes work as expected), I have no Nexus mods at all and just a few of the official Larian ones.

Did you manually download and install them? If you just used the workshop, just deactivate them, or make a new profile to keep the saves separate.

steam is seperate to game (it places mods in some number that I don't recall how you suppose to know but you can look up the file name of mod in search box to find it).

The mods folder for the actual game is Documents/larian/edition/mods

i had this issue with fallout 4 as well. i couldnt seem to perm delete the files, anytime i start the games up the files showed back up. i was wondering if there are in a dif folder. for some reason one or a few of the mods cause the game to take a loooonnngg time to load

Did you unsub from them? I mean, you can just disable them from the menu as well.

as said go to Documents/Larian/edition/mods if they are not there then Steam has them and if simply unsub and or deactiviting in game (go to mods and click checkmark) not enough then type in the mod name into your search box and should take you to it so like --> D: (or C:) then top right search the name of mod like Odinblade and should find it.

Mods are found here C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content

Each Mod has its unique number inside the content folder. To find which number relates to which mod either open each file and read the name or Right Click subscribe button in Steam and Copy Page URL. When you paste it into the new browser page you can see the number. Hope this helps

Just out of interest - doesn't setting up a profile set up a separate folder for all the content/save files used by that profile?

So if you set up a new profile it will essentially be a clean vanilla game?
