Graphical Fidelity
So I bought the game about a week ago and I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this. I must admit the game looks wonderful; the detail put into every section of the map is phenominal. Perhaps too detailed. So much detail that I am infact encountering eye strain trying to digest all the folliage and broken buildings and HUD everywhere. I do not count this against the game; the devs should push their art department as much as they can and it shows. It is just a personal gripe I didn't think I would experience as I must cut my playtime short and take a break. Note: I am in my early 20's and have no history of eye conditions other than wearing glasses.

Being that I'm an optometrist I may have a little imput, playing video games induces eye strain regardless of graphical input. When you look at a screen you blink less than normal, which cause your eyes to dry and can induce eye strain. Some things to help are, don't have an overhead fan or room fan blowing on your face. Always keep a backlight so you don't focus on a bright screen in a dark enviroment. Using lubricated drops will help and if you can don't wear your contacts. If you have glasses that don't have an AR coat on them it will inflict more strain. Hope some of this helps. If it continues to the point that you're developing headaches, see your optometrist.

Thank you for your feedback, I avoid most of these additional problems as it is except for the backlight. I should think about that from now on. I've heard trying to read small text also produces eye strain so if this is true I figured it would behave similarly. What is your input on that?

Well, yes. Your eyes will definitely tire quicker if you're constantly having to work to focus on smaller font/details.

Brightness is definitely a valid concern though. You don't want your display to be any brighter than it actually *needs* to be. If your display includes a blue light filter or night shift mode, I'd consider making use of that if you're playing in a darker room as well. I find that makes it much more comfortable to see when I'm playing late at night.
