Probably origins so you can learn a bit much on the get got.
Customs don't get special dialogue, quite a shame for a main character.

It depends on, if you want a story/questline from the start to the end, or choose your own background tags/name. Everything else is customizable. Originn Characters you dont play as, will be available as companions.

I STRONGLY encourage an origin background for your first playthrough. It is a whole other main plot running through the game you'll be mostly missing out on. Having them as companions you still get the gist of each character's story, but it is much more interesting often seeing it all yourself.

If you have a custom character you really want to play its fine of course, the characters are still great as just companions. For completeness sake though I say an origin.

P.S. Bring Fane with you or play as him. He's the most central to understanding the main plot.

Honestly I would take an orgin character. When you are first making your character you can fully customize them in anyway, so there's no disadvantage to it. The advantage is you unlock your orgin characters story and quest.

Custom all the way. Its just not an RPG if you arent making your own character, and you still get your pick of origin characters as companions. So you still get their story too. Win-Win.

I prefer a Custom origin character.

1. You completely miss out on a ton of voice acting and dialogue for the origin character you're playing as
2. Custom characters allow race/gender combinations unavailable to origin characters
3. Many of the custom character voicesets are quite good
4. Dome of Protection

Definitely and without question an origin character. Other than their plotline and personality, you can already customize everything about them, and if you even have one custom character in your party of four, you only get to play through three of the six major plotlines/series of quests, instead four of them.

yep, custom aways, its not like you when you pick one of those origins dudes

Nah customs don't get the full story.

For the first time playing the game, origin. Also, they have a personalized story

Custom - It allows for more "role play" of your choice. Dialogue options for Origin characters are sometimes limited to the preset of characters background. So IMO it feels like you are just watching the character rather than "being" it.
Also there are voiceovers for custom characters so don't worry about that. And it's unique and different that Origins voice over.

go with origin. with the one you like the most. witch is Fane of course. :D

you'll always have the time for custom. but you'll see how awesome are each origin characters.

have fun!

I'd say origin. I try to force myself to play custom but the voices of the custom characters feel so bad compared to the 6 origin characters. They are infinitely more charismatic. I would really like to play a male elf for a change though
