best class for Fane ?

A geomancer would probably fit his undead status better, considering it has tons of poison spells. Throw out contamination, poison clouds etc and he heals while enemies get hurt. Granted enemies will probably set everything on fire but that's part of the risk.

Geo is nice ye . But he doesnt have to be a wizard. Plenty of good combinatios

Having any build confined to one single school of skills is a terrible mistake, a pure firemage is trash since if has no cc's, a pure geomancer build is also trash due to the lack of damage. Do both, but also get a level or two in hidro for the magick shield regen skills. The best builds of the game take key skills from a LOT o diferent skills, that said, it ultimately depends n your party composition, if you want a party with lots of magical damage, he is a great dps as a Pyro/geomancer or Hidro/eletric hell, there are great builds that takes magics from all magick schools for a good cc/damage combination, if you go for physical damage he is also a great dps as a 2h warrior or assasin, he can be nearly immortal depending on how you build him using a few levels of necromancer due to his source skill, wich is the most powerfull one out of all characters.

I love Fane as a Rogue and using his finger as free lockpicks.

He's great as a shadowblade. he comes with free lockpicks. High wits he always gets to move first, he can take two turns or give another character a second turn right off the bat. polymoprh into more finesse and con to make it hard to kill him.
