The fights will slow right down.
Sure you'll have more skills, but not enough AP to use them as effectively as a 4 man. It just doesn't make much sense...
LW needed a tone down sure but there are mods for that, guess since it's moved to console peasents who can't mod we just have to change it back ourselves.
Is not like you cant wipe the map still with double Arrow storm/Blood storm/Meteor storm + another storm of your choice. The game is very AP focused and with glass cannon + talents you have 8 + 1 flesh sacrifice + another 8 from time warp + another 2 from adrenaline + 2 from execution and your skills can cost 1 ap due to elemental affinity...
You cant glass cannon with a lone wolf for one, secondly all the storms got nerfed as well. yes the game is heavily based on AP clearly being the bigger issue but thats not what they nerfed.
It was soloable with 1 character, without using lone wolf, on tactical before. And so far the DE version is noticably easier in the 1st Act. Hopefully their tuning of acts 3 and 4 are significant.
Otherwise, will have to wait for difficulty increasing mods to be made compatable with DE.
besides 40 int 40 wits and some con\mem is still better then what non lone wolf can achieve, while not being broken by having 100+ int or 70+ wits...
I did the math on making a new character just for max lvl 20. You can literally max con wit and memory and a attribute state for damage and have points left over to throw in one you will never use. You can pretty much get all of the combat skills high enough to learn every skill of course you only have do much you can do a turn. Depends on what your wanting to play as thou still. Basically now you will be a jack of all trades but not a sole master of one. Can be helpful or hindering depends.
Would the game be hard on me for just doing me with a companion? My concern is I want the dialogue/choices to be from my character and D1 my NPCs had to be generic to not be useless on the high difficulties or if they were in front of the part they'd talk instead of my own character.
for example you can have a hunter-ranged-warfare type character with a mix of summoning and with added 2ap per turn he'll probably be strong... which will make things easier for you in a long run.
also DOS2 were playable in duo\solo without lone wolf before. so it'll definitely will be playable with a lone wolf now. though you have to remember that 4 characters have 4\8 social skills maxed :D
Well again lone wolf nerf wont let you max only only the skills you wont. No matter what you want to really play as you literally will have points on other skills that you prbly wont use and you will end up being a jack of all trades so in general it will come down to what skills you use and choose to combo with your one other person but at this point it will be way harder now in lone wolf instead of 4 characters.
