Install issues-
Anyone else keep having the game go through a validation/install loop? It has been doing this for about 20 mins. Maybe I will have to do a complete reinstall.

I was thinking that it might be the servers being stressed by everyone downloading the game. I will do the same.

Apparently it's the server thing. I don't think deleting and reinstalling will do anything. I certainly won't try.

EDIT: It was not enough free space, problem solved.

Good point. I am playing co-op and won't be able to play until next week. No reason not to wait. I just wanted to mess around for a few mins :p

EDIT 2: Problem solved, The problem was I was dumb and didn't know where I ACTUALLY had the game installed (Hint: it was on a drive with only 10 GB free space.)

It's still doing the "Downloading/Verifying/Installing" loop.

I am NOT, NOT going to delete and reinstall. I'd rather wait several days or weeks for it to work itself out.

EDIT: Oh ♥♥♥♥ ing hell. I quit Steam and restarted Steam and now the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing wants to re-download all 8.2 GB again. *()%$*%$%&$&(&@#

i'd recommend to simply reinstall the whole game, man(if you're speed is good enough). i think it's 37GB in total. something like that.

It was the same with me the game took a long time to repack and install after the download finished. It appears like it's stuck on 99 or 100 % even though it's doing a lot of ♥♥♥♥ behind the scenes

so deleting all the file,s in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\downloading and then validate game files worked for me

My system hasn't crashed in ages, this infinite loop in background caused a crash. I guess ill try Cursed Chaos's suggestion tomorrow.

You're right it's around that I misunderstood and meant the whole size after install

Been happening to me now since 10am yesterday. It's now 4:41 am the next day and i'm still downloading this mother-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. I am so angry at this right now. I have had to restart my computer 3 times because it's nuking my computer getting stuck on "install" and "verifying". I'm not on a potato.
If i wanted the enhanced version of the game, i would've purchased it. I would rather have not had it than be bothered with all this ♥♥♥♥ for nearly 24 hours for something i didn't even want nor ask for. It's downloaded over 18.2GB for some asinine reason and it's constantly going up.
I'm glad i even came to the forums to check WTF was going wrong because i wasn't even warned this was coming. I feel sorry for people who have bandwidth limitations.

I had the install/validate loop going on to since id say early aftoon. Restarted steam. Still happened. I had about 13 gigs free on the ssd its installed on, So before trying to reinstall the whole game. I simply cleared up a bit more room. to sit at 21 gigs free, as soon as I did that the loop ended for me.

As far as the person saying they had no idea this was coming, its been in the news feed on the game. Its been talked about in the media and such. So its not a suprise thing either. And to complain because they gave something for free instead saying to bad, you have to buy it again, is rather silly thing to say. Now they gave one the option to play the original or the reworked game. Not taking anything away from you one bit.
