PSA: Raining Blood removes Necrofire.
It turns Necrofire into normal fire which then in turn can be extinguished by normal means.

Now if only somebody else knew how to get rid of the other cursed surfaces without having to use Bless...

Seems like you missed the entire idea behind this 5 year old thread, cleansing cursed surfaces *without* bless.

Something is wrong with your run then, or you thought normal fire was cursed, because this does not work.

As for removing cursed surfaces without bless, tornado removes everything, and throw dust/dust blast will both remove everything. While it doesn't "remove" cursed surfaces, vaporize changes most surfaces to clouds, which can often be useful.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it doesn't do anything to cursed fire, and then you just end up with cursed blood clouds hovering over the cursed fire.

There was that guy in Braccus' Maze who had necrofire and you removed necrofire with raining blood. Is that not how it works?

Which is a scripted event, a puzzle so to speak. A lift to a curse, not a general game mechanic.

For me to work it I also had to bless him after raining blood on him, cos he would bleed to death

Also the fire on him and the pigs is named something else, because it's not the necrofire status. And also again, the necrofire status is different from the cursed fire surface. Cursed fire surfaces CAUSE necrofire but themselves are not necrofire. Cursed fire surfaces are immune to being doused by the things that normally put out fire surfaces. Only things that outright remove all surfaces (tornado, throw dust, some others) can remove it without uncursing it first. The necrofire status also can't be removed by wet or chilled like regular fire can. Only things that specifically state they remove it will get rid of it.

It's blessed blood that cures the historian.
