ive tried everything after/before i used the swornbreaker
-talking to paladin near the church
-equipping braccus ring
-cursing myself without magic armor
-blessing myself
-died and ressurected
-using the respec mirror
is it really meant to be permanent thing? if yes then ill just move on

He is cursed. Meaning he likely refused to use the deathfog machine and the god king cursed him permanently.

I know it is meant to thematically be a perma curse, so story wise, the DE might have fixed it so you can't cheese your way out of the curse. The methods you haven't listed that may work/used to work are:

Killing your character and reviving them via scroll
Going into the respec mirror, making any change, exiting, and undoing that change
Team wiping and having the god king revive you himself

The first two I'm fairly certain required you to use a swornbreaker first, so you don't load up the character info as a sworn character.

To be fair, throughout the game you are repeatedly warned that while making a deal with the God King is a really terrible idea in the first place, trying to go back on a deal with the God King is the mother, father, grandma, aunties and assorted cousins of all bad ideas...

Found this in another thread and IT WORKS!!!

After using the Swornbreaker to break your tie to the God-King, put on the Band of Braccus (that you get from a very early dungeon) and apply Braccus's curse on you which will override the God-King's curse. Then Bless Braccus' Curse from yourself. Boom, no consequences.

I know this is regarding already having the curse. You can keep the swornbreaker and kill Isbeill if you don't care not completing the Deathfog rising quest. After killing Isbeil, DON'T touch the Doomsday Device. When you leave that area where the Isbeil battle took place the God-King will start a dialogue with you, and no matter what you choose, he will permanently curse you. To avoid the permanent curse, use your companion to teleport or nether swap you WHILE STILL IN DIALOGUE with the God-King. It may take one or two tries before the dialogue box goes away, whilst keep the sworn tag and allowing you to use the swornbreaker...only downside is not getting the quest XP (which honestly isn't even THAT much to cry about)...plus before you advance to the final part of the game, you can't go turn the device and kill all of arx too.

Confirming that I did the same thing as LordQuadratum did (and bless you for discovering it as I'm playing the Definitive Edition and they've removed several ways to bypass the perma-curse), organizing my answer in steps:

1. Don't touch the Doomsday Device. It engages all 4 characters in dialog and you're screwed if you do anything but deathfog the city.
2. Explore the area. Once done and you leave, the GodKing will engage YOU only in dialog. At this point, click any other character and have them use a teleport scroll or spell effect to port YOU as far away as possible. This breaks the dialog.
3. You will not get XP for finishing the quest (yet). If you re-enter the deathfog chamber, this will trigger the same dialog again.
4. I am planning on going after the 2nd Swornbreaker (for story reasons I gave the 1st to Almira) and using it. I'll then return to the chamber, as much as a pain in the arse it will be to backtrack, and finish this arc. Otherwise, you could keep the 2nd Swornbreaker and forgo this quest line.
