Why does the gargoyle say I cheated

You need to do the maze normally, getting the skulls to open doors and stuff. Jumping or teleporting through walls is cheating :D

There's also a back path up to the area that you can use to circumvent the maze entirely. The gargoyle doesn't like that either.

To clarify what Firecam said, you can use teleport inside the maze to get between areas or grab chests, but Teleporting to get out of the maze will be flagged as cheating.

Just don't talk to the gargoyle at all.

When you first approach the gate, the gargoyle will speak to you automatically. Show him the ring of Braccus Rex (assuming you did the cave and killed Trompdoy and looted the ring) and the gargoyle will say "welcome home, master" and transport you directly to the back of the maze.

From here you can get a couple of skulls without opening any doors - there are dead bodies around with skulls on them. Then go inside the prison and deal with the three undeads and do the rest of the prison place for epic loots. Then use teleport + skulls to get around the whole maze, loot everything and get back to the start. Simple.

The gargoyle can't accuse you of cheating if you don't talk to him (or maybe it's because I always have Braccuss ring when I do the maze).

If you don't talk to the gargoyle you don't get the reward.

The easiest way that I've done it is to go to the left using the skull from the frst room, take the hatch and then teleport my team to the end. Then walk around and grab the other skulls and unlock the door you teleported through such that you can walk all the way back to the entrance. Then talk to the Gargoyle and get the reward.
