How do you zap the rat without killing him

It's a rat in a maze that wants me to zap him to undo a spell but he's too weak to survive getting zapped

Oh yeah that one, don't worry :

*If you use a shocking spell(use armor of frost if you want to make sure the rat survive) on her she will thank you, but that doesn't seem to do anything else and you gain no xp. However by using the Bless skill you can cure it's curse.

you can just use restoration. Teleport also works. Honestly anything works.

I never used source on vermin but apprently you purified it from this world. Interesting.

Yeah, there's two cursed rats in that general area. The one outdoors, cursed to always tell the truth, can be cured by applying some kind of buff on it.

The one inside, cursed to always lie, can't be cured, it'll always die (which is what it's actually looking for).

Guess I am several years late to the thread.
On my 4th playthrough, finally figured it out.
I used Uncanny Evasion on it and it worked. The rat could lie again.
Didnt give me any exp or loot. Just for the fun of it i guess.

making puddle with Rain + electricity to get the rat to shocked did not work

Yes, any buff helps. Magic in general. Was pretty much already stated in the thread.

The other rat dies no matter what.
