If you head back into Fort Joy and complete the Arena of the One, you can have your collar removed by talking to the female trader at the very right corner of Fort Joy.
Then, for the rest of your party, you must save Gareth. Good Luck.
Oh no no I'm off the island. I already have the collars off and now on the main land. However, my problem is that everyone is twice as powerful as me and I can't find a route I can take without having to save scum my way out of fights. I'm entirely not sure what the hell to do.
Do a few quests in Driftwood, try and reach level 10 or so, and go out the west entrance, heading towards Wrecker's cove. That's a level 10/11 area. After that Stonegarden graveyard is level 11/12.
Ah so I went the entirely wrong way. I went heading east right after landing. I'll go to driftwood and see what I can do. Honestly, as much as I'd hate to, I may have to make a new character since mine isn't great at convosations. Hes a powerhouse but god he sucks outside of combat.
The rule of thumb is always to have max Persuasion on your main, max Thievery on someone else in your party, also Loremaster and anything else, most likely Bartering, on two others.
If you notice the regular enemies being 2+ levels above you, it kind of hint you to better turn the other direction and gain quests and xp there, or manage the fights against the higher levels enemies, and get great loot of you manage to take them down.. On the other hand if you do that, going the other direction later will give you loot that's not even worth flossing your teeth with by that time. and it will generally feel like a waste of time. (As the rewards don't scale either)
I'm only lvl 15 and on second island. And I have to admit that besides inventory management (do I have to keep this, or can i sell it? Why do I carry arond 2 kilos of garlic?) The second hardest transistion for a Baldurs Gate and NWN nerd like me, is keeping up with the quests. And where to actually focus, and how to get as many in the same area as possible
I think I'm done with a questline, only to stumble into it again.
'Total Freedom' is a double edged sword ..(that's why I use daggers!)
