Hatch In Mordus’ House Won’t Open

I just did the awakening ritual and came back to Mordus’ house to do the ‘A Taste of Freedom’ quest, but now I can’t get into the basement. The hatch has turned red and when I try to open it, my character just says “it won’t budge”. I’ve already been down there before, since I ended up doing the Wrecker’s cave quest before the ritual.

Anybody have any idea what’s up?

Have you tried putting the gem in the skull then trying the hatch? Also try to lockpick it if you don't have the gem (need thievery 5). It may have bugged out for you as I had gone down again to loot a chest I overlooked the first time.

How can I put the gem in the skull when I can’t get down the hatch? I have no option to lockpick, just “use”. When I try to “use” it, my character just says, “It won’t budge”.

Besides, I’ve already done that. I went in there before I realized you needed spirit vision to solve the puzzle.
