Fort joy Arena
I seem to have this bizzare talent for finding bugs and problems with games. I hit several amusing ones as soon as I started the game in fact, but they were easily avoidable.

So I am attempting the arena fight on normal difficulty. Yet for some reason the ai enemies have an attack range 3 times that any of my npc's do. Can move and attack twice as much as I can. And have the ability to ignore objects in their way when they attack. Like solid walls, or anything that prevents me from attacking them because of los issues, the ai is ignoring.

I can accept I am horrible at this but what I find rather ridiculous is trying to fight enemies that are ignoring the same game mechanics I am beholden to.

I have fought the arena-battle several times on tactician difficulty and never lost once. (never even tried on easier difficulties)
This is (in my opinion) one of the easiest level-to-tevel -fight that I can remember early on.

There is something else you a doing wrong than what you are describing abowe.
A.I does most certainly not have 3 times your range, as this does not apply on harder difficulties either.

If you have a party of four, you should generally not lose this fight, unless you agree to fight having your party at a lower level than 3. (dunno if this is possible, I have always fought them while them beeing level 3 enemies regardless of my own level)

What makes this fight particulary easy is the fact that the enemy will come to you instead of ambushing you (which is much more annoying and which sadly will be the case all the time later on...).

That beeing said, you will have all the time in the world to place your arhcer at the right spot, turn your rogue invisible, use whatever potion/scroll you need prior to the enemy even reaches you.

As far as I understand, this is just a test-fight ... mainly, to teach you how to use altitude to your advantage.

I think I am just bad at it and will retry on explorer. Thank you though for the advice

that fight has a few ranged that spawn in high places, that increases their attacks range (and damage), that could be what's happening.

Fighting from elevated platforms give an increase in range. Move your camera around and see if they can see you if you're trying to use cover.

The dwarf mage spawns on high ground and will be able to target all of your characters. The arena map is not a range glitch, it is obviously built in a way where the arena defenders themselves have an advantage over any come goers who venture in.

it's interesting on explorer mode my attack range has tripled in size for some reason so that i am now on equal terms with how far the enemy was able to attack me. or maybe they kept blinding me but the animation ust failed to appear to let me know it had happened.

I said it before but I think it was just bugged.

Here is a fun bug I found within the first few minutes of playing this game. if you steal the book at the very first room at the start of the game and put it in the barrel. the dialogue for being searched as you are suspected of stealing it will bug out. You will get stuck in an endless loop.

They have more range, because they are standing on higher ground.
