To play together on one divinity instance you need 2 controller.
It should be similar to this:

There is split screen co-op, when using 2 controllers (start / load a game in the controller UI, then have the other player press Options/Start on the second controller to select a profile and join in). You will need to create at least 2 profiles in the game (saves are kept on a per-profile bases, so other than split screen co-op, you can make multiple profiles to keep saves separate on different playthroughs, or have different mod configurations).

Dual monitors are not supported, but you can run the game in a window across the monitors.
A complication with this is that the 'force split screen' option (to use a split screen even when the characters are close together) is not used during combat, so by default the screen will join then. If the player who doesn't have their turn brings up the in-game menu, that will force a split screen again, though).

My friend and I both had ps4 controllers but whenever he joined through steam remote play, he couldn't join / sign into a profile and spent almost an hour trying to find out why when we simply gave up, does anyone know how to fix this cause we really want to try this game out.

I'm having dificults too. Why two controllers? I have tryed to map my other controller to the keyboard so he can do it from his computer, but it doesn't work. I have two controllers at my home. Someone knows how to do it?

How come you need remote play? The game has built in co op, is there some benefit remote play offers?

Hello,
I tried remote play with my brother today but kind of an issue happened.
When I invite him to play (we are both on controller) and he starts using his, mine is not working anymore....
I don't know if it's bad settings or if it comes from the fact I don't own a xbox or ps4 controller and use x360 ce to make my gamepad recognized by the game

Anyone have managed to successfully remote play on divinity ?

When two players join with remote play together, the invited player cannot join the game. I can see the host's screen and we both are using controllers, but still it is as if my controller is jot working. I can't join. We tried creating a second profile as well, but still no changes.
