I always go into the room and then i talk with Emmie about er sad friend buddy.
Maybe the ball will get to the outcome that they only want to play with it and nothing more?
If you throw the ball they all play with it and you can no longer even talk to Emmie about her mate Buddy. If you don't throw the ball and you talk to Emmie she tells you she misses Buddy but can't leave, and the dog who's in charge (the one with the gun thing on his back) tells you to leave.
Unfortunately if you go back into that room later they attack you, so I had to kill them.
I wanted the dogs to be back together :( I don't care about all the gruesome things happening to everyone else, but the dogs have to be safe and happy!
There is almost no real happy end with all of the animal quests, later it gets real sad with some of them (like the little bear that ask about his mom).
The worst of all is the little undead cat. Broke my heart.
