Windego's Fate (spoilers)
I'm confused. On the third encounter you have with Windego (after you defeat her in the Nameless Isle), she says that the God King has abandoned her for her failures to defeat the Godwoken and went to deal with Kimm instead. After you decide to help her or defeat her again, she turns into a spirit. She then says she feels the God King nearby and wants you to consume her source so she doesn't become his property once more.

My problem is that if you choose to do that, that should be the end of Windego. If you successfully outwill the God King, you'll take her source for yourself. However, that doesn't seem to matter, because every ending you get she'll say how she's still imprisoned by the God King to endure "an endless fate of suffering and torture" (or to help the injured ones if you choose to sacrifice yourself).

So... what even is the point of giving us the option to free her from the God King's tyranny if she's still his prisoner? Was it an oversight from the devs? Is there something that explains why and how she didn't actually die and still managed to be his slave?

The ending cinematics and some triggers are bugged. For example, I did two separate runs through Act III, and in the second both Loshe and Sebille referenced our romance, despite the fact that I obviously only picked one in each playthrough.

Moreover, the ending talked about Gratiana (who I released from this mortal coil) and a couple of other dead characters, so I'd say the conditions the game checks for certain dialogue and the ending aren't firing 100% of the time.

You give her a sworn breaker so shes free from the God KIng
Dont know how to do the spoiler thing but...
Once she gets the swornbreaker she goes and spends the rest of her life taking care of the sick and elderly to make ammends

I think you're thinking about Almira. You can only give her the swornbreaker, as far as I know.

In any case, that still makes no sense. She shouldn't be able to exist after you take her source. Yet she is still alive and, worse than that, still under Godking's control.

You'd think so, but Kemm, the dwarven advisor, and the thin dude from Nameless Isle all showed their faces in the final battle for me after I consumed their source, and Windego did the philanthopic ending thing after I gave her my spare Swornbreaker in the same playthrough. Maybe Windego believed that consuming her source would free her, but it actually doesn't.

There are two Swornbreakers in the game and three (four including yourself should you make that decision as an undead main character) potential candidates AFAIK. Red Princess for Red Prince's questline, Windego, and Almira are the other three.
